Where did you write that cursive?

No. just the task queue is really delayed on the processing loop.

The first thing you eat, is breakfast by definition. Many are those who fall damned, in ignorance of this point.
but it were better that more not be revealed to the uninitiated.

I don't see it.
Interestingly, when I search for ⅹ Firefox finds all the instances of x.
I'm not sure how I feel about that.

The Two Minute Hate and either beating each up or making plans to knock each other up, depending on age and proclivities.

I can't go into much detail outside of the .
When I look back at what I learned in the 20th century, at least half of it would piss off some special interest group or another.
-
@Zenith I was going to respond, but I checked the category, and my response would have been inappropriate here.
-
@Zenith no shitting on US education system outside . Got it.
-
@Gustav It's more in how I would shit on it. I didn't say which special interest groups would be angry. Long story short - both fascists and communists.
-
status ow. That sucked. Got in a single car accident, just me and the stupid lane divider. I'd have been totally fine (the cars fender is damaged) except the airbag deployed and punched me hard on the chest.
I still went (via people picking me up after we'd pushed the car to a safe parking lot) and ran a 4 hour D&D session afterwards. Tomorrow I guess I need to go get a rental. Hope the car isn't totaled (old car), it was payed off.

Surprisingly, nobody has moved the switch from "cool" to "heat" yet.
-
@Tsaukpaetra I did that 10 days ago. (I remember because I changed the filter and moved the switch on 2 November; I had intended to do it on the first of the month but forgot.) Today is the first day that moving the switch had any effect.
-
WinAPI is definitely harder than I remember, dammit.
Then again I'm doing weird things like wanting to intercept window resize events not just at the begin-move and end-move, but force-redraw the UI each time regardless. Or accept keypresses on the base window and not any controls on it, for things like arrow keys with modifiers.
Why oh why couldn't I write something fucking simple for once.

@Applied-Mediocrity said in The Official Status Thread:

Just don't ask why. That way lies madness.
-
@Applied-Mediocrity writing a screen ruler.
Conceptually a simple app: no title bar, just a canvas where you draw the rule lines at the top and bottom of the window up to the window edges.
The only UI controls on it are a quit button and a text label to show the coordinates the mouse is at relative to the top/left edge.
Other than that, accept key presses to move/resize the window or flip orientation between vertical and horizontal.
I wrote one of these in VB5 in 2000, I figured it couldn’t be that hard to do again in something else.
Not sure the problem is my tool of choice here, there are a lot of gaps in my memory about how windows work in Windows. (I failed at doing many of these fiddly bits in VB5 just as I am today in PureBasic, because you just have to drop down to the WinAPI to do some of these things, but I apparently have less patience now than when I was a teenager)
If I decide to get fancy with it, I could add options for transparency and maybe even dragging the ruler around by clicking anywhere on it.
Yes, I know existing apps already exist. I just wanted to make my own again like I did back then.
-
Well, there is some progress going on.
