On a tangent, many years ago, I did have a real human skull that I found online shipped to a Buddhist monk friend. Some temples have human skeletons on display as aids in contemplating impermanence, but this temple only had a plastic one. I could not afford a whole skeleton, so I settled for a skull.
Wombat's important question must be, "Why would anyone pay for a faux skull when they could get a real one for the same price?"
-
-
@boomzilla I used to know one. Truly a Saint upon this wicked soil we walk. Spare of word, bright of eye, and white of hair, that last bit rather salient, he died. Or maybe moved to Florida.

Need a skull for that sort of thing.

When I was a teenager I once found a human skull in a riverbed. Apparently it belonged to someone who'd died further up the river some time ago. Sadly the police didn't let me keep it.

Only for a very short time.

If the skull is still available, that is.

@ixvedeusi True; only for a matter of seconds. (I heard somewhere that the brain is still conscious for something like 8 seconds (another source says 10–15, and some brain wave activity may continue for as much as 30 minutes, although there's certainly no consciousness left), and the reason the headsman holds the severed head up to the spectators is not, or only partially, so that the spectators can see the head, but so the condemned person's last sight in his or her few seconds of remaining consciousness is the crowd cheering his or her death.) I couldn't find any information on how long the heart continues to beat that were more specific than "a few moments", but it doesn't stop instantly. Beheading may be a (relatively) humane form of execution, because the brain loses consciousness and stops having an awareness of pain in a few seconds, but it is quite messy, because blood continues spurting from the neck stump.
None of which is funny, especially if you're the one losing your skull, so have a funny cat picture.

Coffee, that is.IME you get better results if you put it inside the mug.

@ixvedeusi What? The cat?
No, that's not .
-
@ixvedeusi I trust gravity.
Having said that, I hope it wouldn't let me down.
-
@Zecc well, without rocket assistance, it’s never gonna give you up. But I suppose it will always let you down - towards the ground.
-
@ixvedeusi that's what you get for questioning why a human skull has come into your life. Just pick it up, name it a name starting with Mr. or Mrs. depending on your best guess, take it home, and start feeding it. Dunno how the police get involved in that.

in order to escape from the police, he jumped into the nearest lake and tried to swim away.
I can't remember where I heard this, but it's very good advice: "If your escape plan involves a body of water, you should come up with a new plan."
A few years ago, some dudes blew up the bank near the place of my in-laws. It's a coastal town with a lot of mangrove around and there are only two roads into town. The last guys who tried something like this got caught within minutes because the cops just closed the roads and the mangrove is a maze of twisty little passages, all alike. So those guys got on a speedboat and haven't been seen since.

Of course, you have to configure that first.I have. Even so, it sometimes takes multiple presses of
CTRL
to locate it, because I have so much monitor area to look at during that brief period it's highlighted.

@Tsaukpaetra I don't think the default screenshot app ever captures the cursor, and while some other ones give you that option, it is never the default. The cursor gets special treatment by the display subsystem—and always did, otherwise it wouldn't move smoothly—so it has to be captured separately, and most of the time you do not want it there anyway.
