@loopback0 I didn’t make it 5 hours into Jodie Whittaker’s content, but I’ll happily rewatch pretty much all of New Who, and even most of Old Who.

Not quite the same length (5 hours is really, really excessive, but they are pretty passionate about it) but I did watch the 80 minute rant on why "The Rise of Skywalker is
an Embararsment" absolute massive garbage. Yes, it's long, but I was so incredibly annoyed by that piece of shit movie that it felt almost cathartic.

ONR, KNP, RN, and other political groups fascinated by Dmowski in particular and 2RP in general, who hate communists more than American Democrats hate Trump. It's really not surprising you've never heard their stance on this, as it's not only super easy to ignore them all due to their absence in mainstream media, but most people actively avoid them because they're a bunch of nationalists and white supremacists.
Ah, those morons.
Also, I refuse to call PiS conservatives. There's nothing conservative about flipping the whole government administration upside down, and they've been trying to do so since 2005, the first time they won elections.
True. Popularly used labels in Polish political discourse are rubbish.
Politician - Polityk - Polityczka - sounds idiotic, clearly made up, noone uses it
A book from 1875 where the author uses the word "polityczka", as far as I can tell unironically - although not exactly as a job but as a proficiency in diplomacy. If Google Ngram Viewer had Polish corpus, I'd likely be able to find more examples. There's only so much effort I'm willing to put in research here.
Pilot - Pilot - Pilotka - means something completely different (a hat), clearly made up bullshit
To the best of my knowledge there are no pre-WW2 sources, but only because neither the pilot nor the tourist guide were very popular jobs in Poland, and women would have especially hard time becoming either. But if there was no WW2, it's very likely we'd get that word. Just like we used to have piekarka (female baker), something you'd undoubtedly roll your eyes over if you heard it today.
Yes, language changes. Maybe polityczka was acceptable in 1875, maybe it was cringeworthy word creation. Doesn't matter, it sounds bad now.
Ultimately that's the core of the problem - language changes and it's fine when it happens on it's own. Decreeing that it has to change in a certain way immediately is bad.

Gendered profession names were a thing well into the 20th century. It was after the PRL government's efforts to standardize and modernize Polish language that they fell out of fashion.
Doesn't matter, it sounds bad now.
Agreed. But it's good to know your history. So you can, for example...

There's no irony. Current attempts of forceful language changes are bad just as those in the past. How successful those past ones were is irrelevant - current state of the language is what it is, no matter how we got here.

And by the birthday paradox, ~97% chance two of them are on the same day.
I once worked with a person who was born on the same day. Yes "same day", not just "same day of the year". It took some time-zone math to figure out who was actually older. (Me, but not by much)

My sister was born just after midnight. We often speculate if her birthday is a day earlier. Winds my mother up no end.

The older ones I loved but I haven't rewatched them as an adult so maybe rose-tinted glasses might be in play there. Eccleston I quite enjoyed. Tenant drove me up the wall. I didn't watch much of him but I don't like Tenant for some reason. Nice man in interviews but as an actor... he's okay in small doses. From what I did see the writing started to drop off. Matt Smith was a lot of fun but the writing got really ropey. Capaldi and Whittaker were god awful. I dropped in and out but never watched more than twenty minutes. Neither were at their best and the writing felt like terrible fanfiction with the helpers acting as author inserts that had to save the day.
I suspect, in my heart of hearts, that the problem with Doctor Who is it had giant rose-tinted boots to fill. Now let me tell you about the Wheel of Time.

2829 (in that order) while crossing the date line. No, 28 is what I meant. Birthdays on 29th just get pushed to 28th (or March 1st, I don't know) in normal years, making it not particularly interesting.
But in the scenario I mentioned, you have the older sibling's birthday 2 days after the younger sibling's birthday in leap years.

@Zecc I always thought bardcore is supposed to not have modern instruments like autotune?
-
@Gąska at least it’s not just a MIDI track with odd instrument config like 99% of the “bardcore” is. Hildegard at least does interesting things with it, e.g. the cover of Holdin’ Out For A Hero feat. Whitney Avalon.

Status: Watching a physics lecture about "what's going wrong with current physics" 1. She mentions that there's a "crisis" in physics, but then goes on to say "I don't like the word crisis. That sounds too optimistic." (I.e. because it implies it's at least widely recognized there's something going wrong).
Dang it. I still have much to learn to get on her level of cynicism.
1 The professor is a theoretical physicist, so she's not complaining that we spend enormous resources on particle accelerators to understand fundamental physics instead of, say, more phenomenological physics (a complaint I've heard often). What she does complain about is the types of hypotheses that get tested in these complex experiments and how they are picked. Not sure I agree with her, but I'm not really qualified to judge it anyway. If anyone's interested I think it's the same topic discussed here: https://www.amazon.com/Lost-Math-Beauty-Physics-Astray/dp/0465094252

Goddamn finding a good version of that Jim Carrey video is impossible. Like seriously. I looked across all YT and I've only found it in shitty VHS quality with broken contrast and uneven brightness. The other 345 videos were all bad edits. Dailymotion only has individual scenes. As you can see above I had to look through video to find it, and it wasn't even the first result - and even then, the wedding scene has music replaced with something else, and the guy singing in girly voice not singing. Everything posted to the internet is there forever my ass.

The oddest problem with the oddest fix just happened to me.The problem:
On my work machine (Win10), Firefox started using 30% CPU ( One CPU core at 100%? Didn't check. ), and would not load any pages.
Refresh didn't get it working again. Nor did removing all plugins. Nor uninstalling, purging all AppData folders and the user profile, rebooting the machine, and then re-installing.The fix:
On cmd.exe (as administrator):netsh winsock reset
The command spews something about "Winsocket Catalog", and tells you to reboot for the changes to take effect.
I don't do much Windows software. For a reason. Now I'm afraid to google for "Winsocket", lest I get an eyeful of something very, very, very nasty. Let's just be grateful that I don't need to use Edge anymore, for now...
ETA:
And, yes, that did fix it.
-
@Zecc The day of the Firefox today, I see. Just had such a time myself. When you get yours fixed, do tell if the fix was anything like mine, in the post above.

Firefox also stopped loading pages on my laptop (MacOS not Windows) but is working fine on this PC (W11)

Is any online service Firefox uses having issues at the moment, maybe?
Seems stupid it would block everything from loading, but it's not like stupidity's ever been an obstacle to anything.
