You just can’t start the system to actually use them!

And the idea, noted in the comments as a jerk move, of paywalling access to the critical step of a fix, is indeed a jerk move. (It's accessible to RHEL contractholders, but not to people using affected versions of CentOS...)
-
Clicking on the link in step 2 takes you to this:
So, yeah, definitely a jerk move. But, considering RedHat's business model it is not entirely surprising. They make all their money from support contracts.

First line of the image... "... the errata has been applied ..." ???
I guess "errata" has become one of those "singular multitude" things like "data". An erratum, several errata.

@Steve_The_Cynic I bet the person who wrote that is an alumni of a fancy university

@El_Heffe Ideally that content would be published under the GNU FDL and then CentOS would just rehost it thus making the subscription pointless.
Ideal for everyone else, that is. If Red Hat wants to make money they should sell support for their support.

It's in the context of two things being applied.
Issue
UEFI: system hangs after POST and the grub menu never loads after applying the RHSA-2020:3216 and RHSA-2020:3217

Doesn't change the fact that plural nouns need to go with plural verbs.
-
@topspin Ah, I didn't notice it said "has".

Alumnum. I'm sure you mean Alumnum. Or possibly Alumnium, depending on the side of the pond that you're not on.

Then it should be "the errata have been applied".

Alumnus. If one wishes to be fussy.

I've always seen
errata
as being always plural. Even if there's only one errata (erratum?) you still see the plural word and conjugation.

According to the old Hogan's Heroes TV show, the British pronounce it 'Aluminium' (al you min ee um)
I saw it on TV, so it must be true..

What, alumnus?
(ps yes that is how we spell and pronounce aluminium)
