Status: I ticked this option, thinking it would protect me in the event that one of the Explorer windows crashed (it likes to do that with this USB dock).

No, just plain-old USB 3.0 Type-B. I mentioned it first in the Status Thread.

Edit: Return requested. Had a lovely chat with Zul:

    Amazon	Your AccountAmazon.com
    Message From Customer Service
    Hello,
Here's a copy of the chat transcript you requested:

Initial Question: Item improperly registers drives. Probably an issue with the device firmware. This causes severe errors on my computer.

01:15 AM PDT Zul(Amazon): Hello, my name is Zul. I'm here to help you today.
01:16 AM PDT Zul: I'm sorry to hear about that. Let me take a look on the item and see what I can do.
Is this the item that you are referring the Inateck SATA Hard Drive Docking Station, USB 3.0 SSD Docking Station, Dual Bay, FD2005?
    01:17 AM PDT Tsaukpaetra: Correct.
01:17 AM PDT Zul: Thank you for confirming!
01:18 AM PDT Zul: May I know when did you experienced the issue?
    01:18 AM PDT Tsaukpaetra: Immediately.
01:20 AM PDT Zul: I see. May I know what have you done so far to correct the issue?
01:20 AM PDT Tsaukpaetra: This is not a correctable issue. The underlying problem is that the dock reports all drives connected to it as having Serial Number 00000000.
I can't fix that by any means.
01:21 AM PDT Zul: Got it! Thank you for that information.
Let me check what available option that I have here.
01:22 AM PDT Zul: Upon checking here I have an option to send you a replacement order. Is that okay with you?
01:22 AM PDT Tsaukpaetra: A replacement unit will most likely exhibit the same issue. The problem is endemic to the device itself. It's function as designed, just that the design is wrong.
01:23 AM PDT Zul: I see. So you just want to return the item instead?
    For refund?
01:23 AM PDT Tsaukpaetra: That would probably be best, yeah.
01:24 AM PDT Zul: Sure thing.
Let me just go a head and create return mailing label so that you can return the item with no charge.
    01:24 AM PDT Tsaukpaetra: Ok.
01:24 AM PDT Zul: Are you okay with the UPS drop off?
01:25 AM PDT Tsaukpaetra: Yeah, I have access to a UPS pickup point.
    01:25 AM PDT Zul: Great!
Where do you want to get a refund? Gift card or credit card?

01:25 AM PDT Tsaukpaetra: Amazon credit is fine. I use Amazon a lot. :)
01:25 AM PDT Zul: Good to hear that though.
    One moment.
01:26 AM PDT Zul: I have successfully created the return mailing label.
    01:26 AM PDT Tsaukpaetra: Thanks!
01:27 AM PDT Zul: [Link Redacted](#no)
That is link where you can use to print the label.
    Is there anything else?
01:27 AM PDT Tsaukpaetra: No, I think that will be all, thanks.
01:27 AM PDT Zul: Very much welcome!
01:28 AM PDT Zul: Thank you for contacting Amazon. Have a good one! Please click on the "End Chat" to close this window.

  • WTF of my day: So, we want to use an LMS - there's not that much choice on the market if you want/need to self-host. Thus: Moodle (yeah, I know, PHP...)

Our new software even has that as a ready-to-install - you select the software and it's installed and configured so that all existing users can login immediately.

Only problem: The version they're installing is old. We asked them to install the latest version (or at least a newer one). They say that they have to check if there are any cross-dependency issues.

    Guys, it's a stand-alone PHP-based application. There are no cross-dependencies.

There's no direct integration, it really is a bunch of PHP files dropped onto the webserver in its own directory, touching nothing else and while it does use the same database server, it gets its completely own database inside it.

Also, we're talking about more than 5 years out of date here.
