1st better than 3rd better than 2nd, but play them in order.
Or just the first, but you may miss out on closure. Just don't stop playing after the second.Um, actually there are 4 games in this series.
Oh wow, you're right!
Deponia: The Complete Journey does not include the new sequel Deponia Doomsday!
Complete Journey.

In case you missed my edit I'll quote here:
@Zecc said in Game Deals Thread:
Edit: there are four games. I guess I mentally lumped the 2nd and 3rd installments together and thought of the 4th as being the 3rd.
This promo does not include the 4th game, so I guess if you play these you're going to end on a bit of a cliffhanger. Still worth its price, I guess.

But I must admit that they are not flawless, there is a big problem in first 3, only partially remedied in the last one.

@Cursorkeys said in Game Deals Thread:
the puzzles are actually doable without having to resort to a walkthrough to find out you're actually supposed to combine the christmas-cake with the herring and then use it on the statue's nose.
Except that one.
-
@Cursorkeys said in Game Deals Thread:
But, it has some major issues with the humour being not just bad-taste but actually vile in places. I'm not a either.
Now I'm definitely playing this.

Are any of these games any good?
- Grim Fandango Remastered
- Bard's Tale
- Inner Space
- Layers of Fear
- Wasteland 2
- Talos Principle
- Broken Age
- Killing Floor 2
- Shadow Warrior 2
-
@hungrier killing floor 2 is good (on PC, dunno how this FPS feels on console)

@hungrier said in Game Deals Thread:
Grim Fandango Remastered
It obviously has the content of the original, but the game is more of a "port" than a real remaster.
-
@hungrier said in Game Deals Thread:
Broken Age
Disappointing. Great art, A-list voice actors, and a good Act 1 as far as the puzzles and story go. In Act II, the puzzle solutions get increasingly arbitrary where instead of using logic (even off-beat logic), you end up trying to use everything with everything else. The plot stops making sense in Act II as well.

Still a decent game IMO. I liked the twists and turns in the plot, but I guess that's just me. I can understand why you might have felt disappointed, thought I personally haven't.
-
Grim Fandango Remastered is good classic adventure game, if you're into that.
Wasteland 2 seems like a great classic style RPG, but I haven't played a lot of it.
Shadow Warrior 2 is a cool FPS.
Talos Principle is a fantastic first person puzzle game.
$15 dollars seems worth it, considering this is against the usual PlayStation prices.
-
@hungrier Grim Fandango is famous for being good, although I personally am not a giant fan of point and click.
Talos Principle is a very very good puzzle game that I would play again if I could figure out half the damn puzzles.

Quite so. I somehow managed to get it free from one of the Steam giveaways operating during a sale months ago, and I still haven't felt much urge to finish it. I've basically been following a walkthrough almost the entire time.

Another one of these freebies that looks like crap. Supposedly it expired but I was able to download it just now. Anyway I guess you can
Act as yourself in a game that bridges the gap between reality and fiction. If you close the app but still think about the game, have you truly stopped playing?
:whoa_man: They call them fingers, but I've never seen 'em fing.

You find some girl's phone and if you go through it you can solve exciting puzzles like this:
Prepare to have your mind blown
-
@hungrier Experience the true majesty of an accurate representation of modern banking security systems!

@hungrier The only place where I have a password hint set is in windows, since it refuses to accept a mandatory password change if you don't specify a hint.
The hint is the word password.

@PleegWat said in Game Deals Thread:
The hint is the word password.
My password hint is "Google it!"
-
@PleegWat "You forgot your password? You're screwed!" for me.
-
@PleegWat the only password hint I had was in Windows XP, for a very short while. The hint was "test".
-
@Zecc said in Game Deals Thread:
@PleegWat "You forgot your password? You're screwed!" for me.
Mine's "Forgot your password? Oh my god you're an idiot."
(stolen from Louis C.K. site / https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/1kjud0/the_email_you_get_if_you_forget_your_password_for/)
-
hmmm good point.
go to the "forgot password" page and enter someone's email addy.
without ever having access to their email, enter "idiot.wo**" with a random number (guessing it's a number, but if it's alphanumeric it'd still work, albeit less well.
One out of a certain number of times, you'd get instant access. If the site doesn't lock you out after multiple wrong passwords, you can now easily brute force any account in seconds.
??????
Profit (I'm really not sure how you'd profit from this, but it's definitely a vulnerability).
EDIT: Nope. Just tried it. My reset password was "moron.1eju5". It's basically an insult, a dot and then a 5 character random alphanumeric. Much harder. But.... it doesn't lock you out after multiple wrong passwords, so still very flawed.
-
@PleegWat I use "hint". Or something that looks like a hint, but is completely unrelated (particularly since I have my password manager generate random character strings).

King of the Hat is now free to keep on the Discord Store.

Should I stop posting these shitty IndieGala freebies?
https://freebies.indiegala.com/welcome-to-princeland-sp-version
Gather the best weapons, vehicles and followers to crush his army. By upgrading your skills, challenge him at different difficulty mods. After his funeral, we will all able get weapons, vehicles and followers tax-free.
But the challenge is that he is hiding in one of the six bunkers in the land. Sometimes It can be frustrating to not able to find him so you may want to team-up with friends to find him quick.
The prince could be in another castle, so team up with friends. Except this is the single player version.

Turned out I had GRID 2 already (from an earlier Humble Bundle presumably) but still added the DLC.

Based on the title I can only assume it's a game where you play the parent of a Mexican dish. Sounds pretty avant-garde but what do I know?

Something like that; it's a walking simulator like Gone Home. I got it for free at some point and never got around to playing it.
The current free game on the Epic Store is Oxenfree, a mildly trippy adventure game:
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/oxenfree/home
Next up is The Witness, a giant pile of puzzles for which I didn't want to pay full price. Free sounds good to me!
-

Not necessarily. You could have signed up already, in which case you don't need to sign up again.
-
@hungrier said in Game Deals Thread:

Your idea was better.
Walking simulator. Was rather boring IMO, I just didn't feel for the characters.
-
If you can make the site work, Bethesda's giving away Morrowind today. Add another launcher to your collection!
-
In today's Indiegala freebie, we have a game that features an innovative new concept: shooting aliens.

@Cursorkeys said in Game Deals Thread:
Somehow I missed this being released, awesome!
In case you're missing the final episode, "Doomsday", it's at 75% discount at this time.
-
@Zecc I am still missing that one, Thank you!
Edit: Of course I can't log into the steam website because I can't remember the correct password to my account.
I made a new account, but I can't purchase it as a gift for my main account because I'm not friends with myself
The deal ended and then immediately restarted again Well, at least I can buy it from my auto-logging-in account at home now I guess (and change the password).
