Status: Physics class was fun today.

@pie_flavor If you're gonna be fondling your snake, maybe physics class isn't the best place to do it. Biology on the other hand...
-
@Atazhaia Oh, it's not my snake. I wish I had a snake, though.

-
@pie_flavor Ah, so you were fondling someone else's snake?
-
- GTX1050Ti. There is no GT (except for some fake reflashed mining crap).
- On some notebooks you're supposed to install Intel drivers first.
- Check if you picked the right one. For quite a while now the package has been one big furball of everything, but perhaps that's been changed again.
sfc /scannow

No, someone else was.
-
@pie_flavor Ah, so you were just watching and taking photos. Got it!
-
@Atazhaia Yes! It also occasionally meandered onto my paper, making it slightly difficult to do my work.

I think you're confusing several things with each other here. Git itself, GitHub, VS plugin for Git...

Status: Inspected the ongoing bathroom renovations yesterday. They have tore out all equipment, walls, floor and ceiling. I noticed that the walls were also using newspapers as insulation, I could make out a few vintage headlines like "Father cut jugular vein of himself and his son, mother hanged herself".
Also, I need to take my cat to the vet as she looks to have hurt her eye. So I'm going there later today too. I wonder if she got scratched by one of my mother's cats, as she's not on good terms with them after making a bad first impression being all angry and growly at them. Since then calmed down, but relations are still frosty.

Marching onward through the feature upgrades. Currently at 1803. Video driver actually installed this time, but it's incredibly unstable. I've never seen such varied bluescreen stop codes before...

sfc /scannow
- I blame mobile.
- Hmmm, I tried and it silently failed, but now that I'm at 1803 it magically appeared.
- yeah there's no difference, the package for the 20 series is the same as the 9 series. But I had tried multiple versions., nearly half a gig in duplicate drivers when I ran disk cleanup.
- trolling through feature upgrades, kinda precludes a clean system would have no corrupted files this early, eh? Then again, Windows...
-
Varying nonsensical stop codes is often a sign of physical memory corruption.
That reminds me... I wonder if @Gąska managed to fix whatever was wrong with his stuff in the other thread.

Fuck me if that's the case, I tried matching the motherboard with good RAM as best I could. Guess who's gonna start a memtest tomorrow morning?

I don't know yet. Hardware problems are like cancer.

New parts? If so, I feel your pain. I have never had good luck with my builds either.
(but even so I'd rather not fuck you)

DISM kinda-sorta replaces SFC. At the very least you should run both.
Edit: I was actually trying to click 'discard', as I suddenly thought that people probably won't care, and must have got 'submit' instead. Oh well, I'm not going to fbmac it. DISM does actually work quite well if there is component store corruption.

Oh boy a company lunch. I am so excited .

I'm so fucking sick of interruptions in this job. "Before you finish this thing just do this other thing". No, fuck you, let me finish this stupid thing you incompetent prick, or else both are going to take way longer.

STATUS utterly confused. Is it like an hour and a half to drive anywhere in Canada or should I just get to a more local airport. I can't seem to figure out how to get to the local airports. How much is a two hour taxi in Canada. Can I use a British driving license there?
I've spent waaay too much time living in the city.
Christ each block on the map is at least 4km across. After this adventure I'm never leaving the safety of claustrophobic cities again.

Actually I'm quite aware of the difference. See:
@Gąska said in The Official Status Thread:
Git itself,
Horrible, unusable software.
@Gąska said in The Official Status Thread:
GitHub
The thing Microsoft bought, that helps make people think Git isn't quite so terrible.
@Gąska said in The Official Status Thread:
VS plugin for Git...
The only thing that has ever been invented that makes git remotely usable, barely.
-
@Magus I can't tell how much of it is bad joke and how much is actually not being aware that TortoiseGit exists.
Also, TIL Microsoft bought GitHub.

Is your mouse pointer an actual mouse?

@Gąska I think that's a phone screenshot, so no mouse pointer. Just some cat app like @Tsaukpaetra has, from the look of it.

STATUS I'm officially declaring all of Canada the fuckhole of nowhere. If we cut off oil shipments to the country they'll probably never be heard from again. I'll miss you @Lorne-Kates .
In other news I've learned that Australia is like the size of Russia. I always knew it was big but never quite realised how big. I'm not sure we have enough nukiller missiles to glass it anymore.

@TimeBandit Millions of people also use Windows, as you would normally point out.
