@Cursorkeys I've thought a few times that scooters seem much more dangerous than bicycles or motorcycles at the speeds they go. Guess my suspicions are validated.
Maybe traveling 30km/h standing up is not such a great new idea after all.

I own one of these (well, not exactly that model, but close enough).
I don't disagree with your statement, really.

I've been on just a regular foot powered scooter and don't feel safe at all going much faster than I could walk (and I bike at high speeds through NYC traffic).

Probably. Buses are also an issue. Though buses move much more predictably than taxis and usually have more consideration but they don't depend on tips that will be influenced by the speed of their trip.

Because Apple products are not expensive enough
Lambasted here:
The argument being that the 10% tariff is to apparently encourage moving all the production of iPhones over to the States because it's assumed that the majority of value is produced outside of the States, but that supposition is wrong since China only adds $10 of value to iPhones (the majority of the rest of the value being in the States already,) thus it's an idiotic idea for the sake of that $10/phone.

From the article:
The Communications Act 2003 defines illegal communication as “using public electronic communications network in order to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety”. Breaking the law carries a six-month prison term or fine of up to £5,000.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/27/world/asia/indonesia-lion-air-crash-.html
You know those movies with the line "Computer's busted, switching over to manual!" or some variation of hitting the manual override switch? I'm starting to wish that it actually existed. A simple switch on all planes, that really DID bring them under fly-by-wire-MANUAL control.
3 planes brought down or almost brought down by the same damn stall-avoidance system. Several more for other computer-control shenanigans. In one case, the pilots had heard of a previous incident and shut down the computer at first sign of trouble (as ar as I can remember); landed safely after that.
From the article, the procedure to recover from a stall-avoidance system failing is to:
- Turn a switch to maually adjust the tail to neutral.
- Turn a switch to cut power to the motor controlled by the previous switch.
- Turn a wheel to manually control the tail.
So, no way to just cut the computer out of the loop on this model?

I've got no sympathy for tax evaders though, I earn money outside of my employment and fill out the paperwork each year. It's part of paying for the society you're living in. If you don't like it then go find an island no-one wants.

@Cursorkeys From what I understand, since one of my friends was laughing at this whole scenario, 4chan has been enjoying seeing people get mad at getting audited, and have therefore contributed.
