@gąska this is correct, although only in categories that I have access to, and when NodeBB is working properly and actually loading the posts when they're posted. (edit: also, I don't think I ever made it record topics, as in the first post in a topic. Those trickle down under a different event ID.)
In all seriousness, though, I wouldn't have reposted it if it had seemed personal or in any way identifying. If you'd like me to delete it, just ask and I'll do so.

We had (still have?) a certain user who would frequently delete their own posts, for no good reason, so that was the real reason for the userscript. That, and because I can.

And do you really expect everybody to remember to PM you whenever they delete a post? Especially before you told us today that you're doing it!? Has it really never occured to you that someone might not want you to post something even if it isn't personally identifiable?
Out of curiosity - just how many of my deleted posts do you have in your database?

A bit off-tangent: That's what I tell people when they say they're using SnapChat because it automatically deletes their messages. Meaning, that's not how it works. Or more properly, most of the time how it works is really "good enough" for their purposes, but they should at least be aware there's always ways around this if the other side really wants to.

Out of curiosity - just how many of my deleted posts do you have in your database?
I have no easy way of telling, because all it contains is the PID and the HTML contents of each post. I'll run a script to grab the UID corresponding to each post and let you know when it finishes.
NodeBB tends to be very prone to disconnecting the websocket if the tab isn't "active", so I will say that it misses a lot of them, and it doesn't bother to try to go back and get them.

@topspin Snapchat actually goes out of its way to detect screenshooting, recording etc. so if the other side doesn't play nice, at least you know it. There might be some custom clients, but are there actually?

Yes, as long as your device isn't jail-broken to prevent that detection. Also, it might already be too late once you know you got screwed. There's also probably some legalese buried somewhere telling you that their technical solutions are best effort only.

There are, last time I checked the AppStore. Seemed to be scammy in the sense of "buy these free-to-play pay-to-win tokens" for extended usage, but I think working.

Also, there's a difference between deleting something when there are replies already and deleting it within 10 seconds after hitting "post". And I'm in the second group.

For various reasons you shouldn't want to know. I expect people to respect my will not to make deleted material seen by not talking about it, and if they happen to have a copy, not reuploading or otherwise sharing it. I really don't see how doing otherwise can ever be seen as good, with the obvious exception of whistleblowing.
And don't even think of moving goalposts to quoting. It is unreasonable to think preventing deep copies is possible and there should be a mechanism to purge them when source post is gone. If something is particularly important for me not to persist in quotes, I can always ask people or mods to remove it on their part, though I don't expect them to comply in every case.
You should go talk with some Gen Z kids. You're gonna love their approach to permanence of information.

Yeah, that sounds pretty absolute to me. As in, you seem to think that there is absolutely no reason, other than whistleblowing, that someone else's judgment about whether this information should be shared could possibly be more valid than your own. And I object to that sentiment on general principle.

But does it sound like "control"? I'm not controlling anybody - just asking politely.
As in, you seem to think that there is absolutely no reason, other than whistleblowing, that someone else's judgment about whether this information should be shared could possibly be more valid than your own.
Give me one example. One example other than whistleblowing where sharing someone's deleted message is justifiable. For the record, I consider whistleblowing to be being loud about every instance of wrongdoing (crimes, breaking religious vows, infidelity in relationships, etc.), not just in government/corporate environment.

If you post sensitive content to a forum, you must assume the risk of leaking something you didn't intend to. It comes with the territory. You either live with it or don't post.
This bot doesn't do anything a very dedicated and jobless wtdwtf-er couldn't do manully. It just does it better.
As long as people aren't being tattle-tales or trying to repost deleted content, I'm ok with it.

@cartman82 it's not like I care for that post really. It's fairly unharmful. I made this topic just to highlight what a huge asshole @anotherusername is, reposting a week later stuff that was deleted within seconds, for the very apparent reason that that post never belonged anywhere on this forum.
