@heterodox and did it work? It's much more common for level.dat to be corrupted than any region files.
HardcoreQuesting was throwing exceptions that crashed the server, blew away its data, forcedchunks.dat in one of the dimensions is throwing stack traces; not crashing the server, but I can't log in ("Invalid session"). Definitely thinking things are hosed.
-
@heterodox Well, that sucks. Good luck with your fixing it!
Also, HQM? Are you still running 1.7?

FTB: Infinity Evolved (Expert Mode).

@heterodox Well, if you're going to be stuck on a 1.7 pack, at least you're stuck on a good 1.7 pack. Never had the free time to try that one myself.

Before this pack, I was on Sky Factory 3, which uses 1.10, IIRC. So with FTB: IE, the modpack itself is fun but obviously feels like there's a step down in the core mechanics. Also, of the mods that are shared, some of the mechanics changed significantly so I have to re-learn them.

@heterodox I personally like the 1.12 ones a lot. Thermal Expansion has come a long way and I like its style so much more than Ender IO's.

Eh. I'm a big fan of Ender IO but maybe I need to try out a 1.12 pack.
Incidentally, got back into the world and everything was there... except all my player data ([20:59:56] [Server thread/WARN]: Failed to load player data for ). Fuck that. Guess I'll lose a couple hours worth of work, ah well...
Edit: Just remembered my main problem with Thermal Expansion, which is no way to speed up the machines. At least in my version.
-
@heterodox They've each got their perks. Personally I just prefer how TE does things. For example a lot of things cannot simply be automated in a closed loop; things like slag and sulfur are only chance results from processing ores, so things like farms or ore tripling take more thought in their automation. And Ender IO's conduits may be useful but goddamn are they ugly - there's just no substitute for seeing the items whizzing around your base. New versions of TE have even addressed the primary advantage of conduits - now you can plate ducts in signalum so that they can transmit energy as well as fluids or items, or transmit redstone through any type of duct with an attachment. And the concept of an expensive conduit with infinite transfer speed is still unheard of outside TE.
-
@heterodox I liked EnderIO's conduits in my SkyFactory 3 world better than whatever the other pack's were. I'm currently downloading a 1.12 pack (FTB Revelation) to try it out and see what it's got. Apparently it's got 166 or so modpacks in it, so I'm interested to see what it has that I haven't run into yet.
-
-
@pie_flavor They recommend 4GB for both clients and servers. I'm slightly suspicious of that (since it seems low), but I'm firing it up for the first time now so I'll see how it runs.

The joke he's making there is that it's 166 mods, not modpacks.
Also, that's about the same number as in SF3, IIRC.

I like compact and hidden builds. Painting Machine means you can hide conduits in the walls.

Maybe. Preloader keeps saying 184, so it might be more. Even if this just ends up as "SkyFactory 3's modlist in a normally-generated world", I'd be OK with that.

If it's like FTB: IE, it'll have some of the same and some different. I think the industrial path is pretty similar but the magic path will be pretty different.
-
@heterodox Usually I hide them behind façades too, but that doesn't change the fact that they look far cooler when they are exposed.
Also, viaducts.

Maybe, but they're also laggy. So

Another interesting note is that the station claimed I was under-hydrated, though I make sure to drink plenty of water regularly (18 ounces or so morning and night post meal, and a few cups throughout the day).
I have a lot of trouble with that because I have no sense of thirst. By the time I feel thirsty, I'm severely dehydrated.
So I do the "Dual Powerade Plan", which is something I made up, but before I go to bed I check the fridge and if I haven't dranked at least 2 of those 20oz Powerades, I drink one before bed. Fortunately Powerade is pretty cheap so it's not bankrupting me or anything.
Huh. I wonder if that's a stronger form of what I get. I never really feel "thirsty" like one feels "hungry", but eventually my mouth/throat are just dry. Probably doesn't help that I vape and that tends to dry out that area as well...

@pie_flavor If you keep clicking Install Later does it keep getting taller?
-
@hungrier Oh, 'install later' sets a time. The back button is what actually exits this window. This was simply caused by some sort of glitch. Found it pretty funny though.

Upgraded my MacBookPro to High Sierra (3rd time's the charm). Holy fuck.
xcode9.2 + OSX10.12 -> wxWidgets takes about 1hr to build (expected, it's a low-end macbook)
xcode9.3 + OSX10.13 -> wxWidgets takes over 8hr to build.
Nothing in the library changed

?I dunno. But the issue was modern browsers (FF and Chrome) not obeying download links. Don't drag my working browser into this.

Heh, much better than my father's "two liter of Mountain Dew a day' habit...
I wonder ...
Powerade
250ml = 9.8g of sugar
Sugar / ml ~= 0.0392g
2x 20z = 1182.942mlTherefore sugar in 2x 20oz =~ 46.4 grams of sugar.
Mountain Dew
20oz = 77g sugar (!!!!)
sugar / ml = 0.130183897Therefor, sugar in 2L bottle is 130.2 g of sugar.
Yiiiiiiiiiiiikes. Both exceed the (quick google) 25mg recommendation, but the Mountain Dew fuuuuuuuuuck.

That's the real issue. It's probably paging more, as the tooling has increased in size (because it takes a physical slave-driver with a whip to stop developers from incrementally bloating code each release).

1, 2, 3...For IE 11, the details element can be expanded in the preview pane but not in the post. :/

It was flickering because every time I tried to expand it it counted as an edit (see the edit count on that post).

No, I really don't
But hey, maybe to test the edit limit?
Edit: E_NO_REPRO?
Though apparently Ctrl-V to paste images doesn't work, and after manually uploading the above it froze IE for like, 20 seconds or so...
-
@tsaukpaetra said in The Official Status Thread:

What's weird is I was able to expand that details element, then I reloaded (https://what.thedailywtf.com/post/1331717), and now I'm not able to anymore. I think details elements can initially be expanded but then something happens on page load that kills them.
There is nothing possibly sufficient to explain why clicking to expand my own details element counts as a null edit though.
