Does he mean italicized MY, or underlined MY?
Also, I notice a distinct lack of likes on dog posts. Discrimination by cat people, once again!
-
Cats are dicks. It follows that cat people are too.

COMPLAIN, please!

Eh… I prefer this Catwoman:

Wouldn't say no.... but:

Having read the plot, I think I remember watching that episode.
edit: Yup. Watched the first couple of mins on Youtube. Definitely remember this

There is only one true catwoman

…how is an uploaded image broken‽
-
It's not?

It is in Firefox.
But then it is an image with a JPG extension and a WebP file header

Yes ;)

Chrome to the rescue!
-
Maybe. One day. I'm kinda tied to Firefox by the extensions I use though; need to find Chrome equivalents.

Stretching the boundaries of "cute" a bit there. They've all got a bit of Maru in them, but only Rusty the caracal seems to have the right idea about what to do with a cardboard box.

As all cats and children know, you can do anything with a cardboard box. The only limitations are your imagination and how long it is before it's time for a nap!

you can do anything with a cardboard box.
If you say so. Show me how you make chicken soup in one.

- put box on ground, open end up.
- set camp stove in open box.
- proceed to make chicken soup.

Was going through some old photos and found this one of my dog, from when he was a puppy:
-
That's a puppy? How big was he fully grown? I think you were conned, it's definitely a bear.
What is he, a Newfoundland?
-
He is indeed a Newf. This is him right now, resting after a busy morning trying to get an extra sandwich.
Lots of fur at the moment, he has just started shedding his winter fur.
Once at a zoo, we were just leaving when we heard a kid: "look mommy, they took one of the bears with them!"
-

o.O I bet that's even more shedding than my cat, and her fur is so thick and fine that I'm convinced she's part chinchilla.
Newfies are on my list of dogs that I would want to have if I ever owned a dog.

One year I weighed the fur after I had brushed it off: 2kg.
Newfs are definitely cool. Not only because of the size and sturdiness, but because they think on their own. That is one of the reasons why they are used for life-saving: If they think someone is drowning they act first and ask for orders afterwards (This is sometimes a nuisance because their opinion of humans' ability to float is quite low).
I guess I could fill this forum with cute anecdotes about newfies (so don't get me started). My wife and her parents have had newfs for forty years, and the stories about them are, of course, a large part of the family lore.

Fun fact. The Newfoundland was bred for saving drowning people, so successfully that they will often do so with no prior training. Newfies and some other breeds were crossed to create the Moscow water dog, with the intention of producing a new water rescue dog. The Moscow water dog would indeed instinctively approach struggling swimmers. Unfortunately, rather than pulling them to safety, the dogs only wanted to bite them. The breed is now extinct.
-
They have webbed feet, which makes them very powerful swimmers (I just love getting up on mine, dig in my hands in his fur, and let him tow me back to land -- part of the rescue practice), two kinds of fur so they hardly even get wet, can close their nostrils so they can dive, and --as you say-- often have the life saving instinct built into them (even if they do not always know what to do with it. Lifesaving training primarily consists of having senior newfs showing them by example how to act in different situations).
First time I went swimming with mine, I had him on a tow line because I wanted to give him a long leash. He started collecting the line as if it were a fishing net (which is also one of their original uses) and then swam to shore with it.

I've heard that Newfies are incredibly lazy and will happily not go out for a walk pretty much ever. This sounds like a good idea in a dog after being barked at all evening by my Papillon/Pomeranian cross

They can be quite active if they see the purpose of it. When I was on parental leave we would walk 20km every morning. As long as the scents are interesting and the entire flock is with him, they can continue forever. But mine would just as well forgo a long walk if it is just the two of us and all he really wants is to lift his leg.
IME, big dogs rarely bark unless there is a need for it. These days, mine barks when our cats are in a fight, or when other wildlife (e.g. moose, deer, roe, boar, lynx, fox) gets too close to our lawn. Sometimes he will woof once just to tell us that we should open the door and let the cats in.

Does he have a cane to wave too?

Evening walk just now
