Odd that pigs with non-heterosexual lifestyles taste different as well. I wonder if that extends to humans?

I think there was also a contest somewhere where you had to guess which episodes of certain TV series were written by a man.
Someone highlighted an episode of Criminal Minds where two girls were getting into their car on a dark, lonely parking place at around midnight. And suddenly a SUV pulled up behind them, blocking their exit.
The girls' reaction? "Let's get out and see what kind of guy does this!"Hint: It's not the kind you want to have a chat with at midnight on a dark, lonely parking place.

A switching power supply in the office has developed a high-frequency, annoying dooo-deee-dooo audible tone due to vibrating windings and it's control loop obviously not being that stable.
Solution: give it a whack to resettle the windings and it'll probably quiet down, at least for now.

NodeBB, is it really so much to ask to have the notification drop-down items displayed in a consistent, logical order, instead of hiding half the ones I want to see, showing me ones I've already seen, and shuffling them while I have the drop-down open and I'm in the act of clicking one of them? The buggy notification system was what triggered my rage quit last time; please don't make me do it again. Kthxbye.

I can't make sense of the files in Adblock Plus's folder (they appear to contain every filter rule in the history of ever -- including ones that were lost the first time it lost them -- and ones that I've deleted). But I added a huge wad of them and then exported it to an .ini backup file, because obviously trusting Adblock Plus to not delete all of its filters for no good reason is too much to ask of it.
Now I get to maintain a filter list in two places. Yay.

With the war between adblockers and advertisers, I wouldn't be surprised if it were the other side doing their best to take down the blockers...

@dcon webpages that I visit shouldn't be able to delete my Adblock Plus filter subscriptions or the custom filters that I've added.

Find the start of this string, find the end marker after the start of this string, give back a subset of that string, omitting the string marker, and clear away inconsistencies, then turn it into a number.

Dwarf Fortress is PG13 for violence?
-
@benjamin-hall Beyond Good and Evil and Psychonauts weren't good when they were new. They had a lot of hype (for some reason I can't imagine), but they aren't good games. Certainly not RPGs.
Nowadays, people tripping over themselves to recommend them is like those people who are like "oh you GOT to watch Firefly!!!" after it was aired and cancelled like 12 years ago. It was never good in the first place, but they just never got over it.

I'm going to have to amend my first statement--let's add another bullet point there:
- No Dwarf Fortress. Otherwise these bullet points may become actual bullets, fired from an actual gun (not entirely unserious here).

@blakeyrat May I ask why you didn't like them? Was it play-style, story, graphics, or something else? I'm trying to understand why. I've never played either, and want to know more details.
@homoBalkanus Can I ask the same question as above (but flipped)? Why did you like them? What made them good games in your opinion?

Have to agree to disagree here. I've never played Beyond Good and Evil but Psychonauts was a damn good game, excellent graphics (at the time), interesting story, very interesting gameplay mechanics and it wasn't so hard that I couldn't complete it.

It was a long time since I played BGE so this is from skewed childhood memories. I liked the story, the characters and had a lot of fun on the photography side-quest.
Psychonauts, I'm playing now. Story is silly and characters are over-the-top caricatures. That's definitely not for everyone. I'd say the most interesting part for me is seeing how the artists pictured insides of people's minds. I don't mind (heh) spending time just wandering around different minds and enjoying the scenery.
I'd have also suggested The Witness just for the scenery, but you don't want puzzlers
