Still fat.
Vaguely suspect leather of stretching rather than actually losing waistline.

@weng I need to do something like that with mine. I know the feeling. Clothes are looser, mirror hasn't changed. Bah.

No, not a BMW or Mercedes. A 1970's German Ford. In Germany. Finding concrete information about shipping costs on weekends is apparently impossible.

Status: A few days ago, I had my differential fluid changed and the mechanic showed me a small plastic dish of the drained fluid thick with metal particles. So the differential is probably on its way out. The OEM has stopped shipping assembled differentials for my specific vehicle, so replacements are likely going to be pricey as they'll need to be pieced together. However, the OEM also offers a high performance upgraded driveshaft + differential + axle kit that from what I can tell is pretty much a bolt-in replacement.
The mechanic quoted $4k for an aftermarket-rebuilt differential and the labor to install it. The price of the OEM kit (which also has axles and a driveshaft) is pretty much that exact price from a few places online, plus labor. If I'm going to go through the trouble of replacing one weak link, it might make sense to spend a bit more and replace the rest at the same time. However, the aftermarket solution gives me some options for different gear ratios, which I won't have with the OEM option. Thus the cloud of an impending expensive repair has been met with the silver lining of two possible solutions each with their benefits and drawbacks, and the inherent interesting engineering problems.

Nah, if the headset wasn't properly calibrated and aligned to your eyes, it could easily force your brain to compensate unnecessarily.

Set up a batch transcoding of my music library1 around 3 AM. Finally looked at my computer around 13:00 and it said there were still 2 ½ days to go, and it looked completely stalled. So I cancelled, changed the target from a USB key to the internal NVMe SSD drive, and it's only taking about 1 ½ hours instead.
Most interesting: Using all 16 threads, nothing is saturated. Not the CPU, nor the source2 or destination disks, nor the RAM:
1: For reasons, this was faster and easier on me than trying to figure out the differences from the last time I did a lossless archive -> lossy day-today transcoding.
2: I'm not sure why the usage suddenly increased in the middle of theD:\
graph.

The flash drive likely has a much smaller queue for writes. IIRC Windows prioritizes synchronous operations for removable media "so it can be quickly removed" once whatever operation was done is done (so it's not in the buffers).
Some programs like to write things byte by byte and continually flush the buffer too, which is also bad for flash.

Yeah, using the USB flash drive as the target was a brainfart. That part is referring to after I switched to the really fast internal SSD instead, which didn't seem to have that issue for this use. What's neat is I assume that means I was limited by some combination of synchronization, CPU speed, and available threads, rather than disk speed (after I changed destinations). Or if disk speed was an issue, it had a fairly small effect.
Of course, I would have to profile it to be sure. But in all cases, it's a very nice step up from the last machine I did this on :D

Is there an actual difference between men's and women's belts aside from maybe colour?

width.
Men's belts tend to be more or less bang on exactly one width, about 4 centimeters. belts for ladies fashions can be between 1 and 120 centimeters wide depending on the designer.
-
@raceprouk I wouldn't be surprised if they were designed to have the buckle on opposite sides, similar to shirt buttons. Bus since most belts are symmetrical anyway...
As a left hander, I think I tend to put my belt on the "wrong" way most of the time

I did Herringbone once. Didn't last. I tend to murder belts that aren't genuine leather. Such things are so rare these days that I buy belts from a police uniform supplier.
