That's Pokémon, Ben.
Now if there were an achievement for making/owning all the legendary weapons, as opposed to ones for making individual ones....

@ben_lubar Oh good--those two things drove me up the wall.
Before I click links, did they turn down the darkness level at night from BLACK BEAR WEARING NINJA CLOTHES IN CAVE AT NIGHT?
-
@ben_lubar That stuff's fine, but I still want a patch that turns off my character's voice entirely. Just removing a couple repetitive lines isn't enough.

How should I know? I'm just standing in Rata Sum with some other Asura, drinking bobblehead potions, and dancing until the patch comes out.

Telepathy, duh.
Shoulda seen that one coming!

Status: found blakeybot.
-
@Fox So I was going to play with sockbot last night but I went to do my daily login on GW2 and found a Living World episode instead. And it didn't really answer the biggest question I had after the end of the HoT story, so I'm disappointed.
-
@Fox said in GM/Game Queue:

Taimi literally says "the egg is doing great".
-
@ben_lubar Yeah but she has been known to be wrong. There's still no definite answer on what exactly happened to it at the end of HoT.
-
@Fox I especially liked the part where
Marjory said "people never change" in the mission where she had her new armor set.
-
I got to get you guys playing Elder Scrolls Online, even its most boring expository cutscene mission is about a million times less boring that that Guild Wars 2 episode intro.
The art design is also a million times better, but it's also running on an engine that's about 5 years newer.
-
@blakeyrat The cutscene introducing the new zone is pretty interesting.
-
@Fox I'm pretty sure I've seen that exact cutscene like 40 times in various video games. You get on a blimp. You run into a magical kerblooie. The blimp crashes. Yawn.
In fact, I'm reasonably sure World of Warcraft had that EXACT cutscene at the beginning of its third DLC.

You really weren't watching, were you?
The explosion reversed itself.
-
@ben_lubar That doesn't change what I said at all. In fact I specifically said "magical kerblooie".
-
@blakeyrat GW2's artistic cutscenes are pretty though.
-
@Fox The two talking heads ones are pretty nice too, but this DLC doesn't use them. It just uses in-engine cutscenes and their engine looks crummy.
However, I did find several amusing bugs/behaviors during them because I was dicking around while the endless talking was talking endlessly.
Did you know your character will still lip-sync cutscenes even if posed as sleeping? Did you know you can headbang by repeatedly right-clicking nothing?
-
@blakeyrat said in Gilled Horse Chew:

Your character faces the direction you're turning the camera. In action camera mode, that's all the time, but in non-action camera mode, that's only when you right click.
-
@ben_lubar It's not that simple, because even when I had the camera directly behind Drozahn and click he'd still headbang.
-

TIL. This will come in handy for when I finally put that bass to use.

I was watching you, and the camera was rotated 180 degrees from the direction your character's body was facing.
-
@ben_lubar I tried it both ways. I just rotated it so I could see him headbanging because it was funny. Try it yourself.
Lip-syncing while asleep is also funny.

Look at my impressive new backpack!

Nice. I unlocked the first collection for that but only have like 2 of the items so far. Spinal blades and Incinerator are taking up too much time.
I'm going to build a replica of the Taj Mahal out of mithril with all the mithril I'm using so far...
-
@FrostCat said in Gilled Horse Chew:
Spinal blades
Which color are you going for? I got my green one before Finite Result was a thing.
-
@ben_lubar Hadn't decided yet. I've only got the base unit so far--haven't spent the time grinding shards.
-
-
@ben_lubar Hah, whoops.
Did you know if you do the faceplant animation you won't die when you hit the ground, no matter how far you fall? A few weeks ago I was doing the jumping puzzle in Metrica Province, and I fell off a root, hit another one and did the faceplant thing on a lower root...and fell off the second root. Now normally as soon as you are in danger of falling out of the area, you get ported back to the puzzle entrance. But apparently the faceplant thing blocked that, so I fell all the way down to the ground...and didn't die. IIRC though I had to start over from the beginning.

Want crazy glowing red eyes like Blergo? First, go to where the wyverns nest in Verdant Brink and pick up the strange device. Then find the 10 bloodstone slivers scattered around the open world. Then spend 10+ hours killing wild animals in an attempt to make the bloodstone-crazed creature the device displays show up. Then kill it in like 2 minutes. Feel smug as you ignore the people screaming to slow down the damage because you were the one waiting for 10+ hours, not those people who teleported in at the last minute.
Then, uh, probably huff some bloodstone dust. I forgot what comes next. Anyway, are my eyes red? They feel itchy.

Well, my Guild Wars wallet is empty. But at least I have this...

How long do those last?
My son said he saw someone fighting the ancient wyvern matriarch or whatever naked with the discomace this afternoon.
Also my API key on GW2Efficiency seems to have died.
Edit: I created a NEW API key, added it to gw2e, and the site says it's invalid too, so I guess it must be broken.

It's a helmet skin. Getting it unlocks it in your wardrobe for all weight classes.
@FrostCat said in Gilled Horse Chew:
My best guess: they had died so many times during the encounter that all their armor had broken.

Does it vanish when you do that?
I know that in WoW, people doing certain things they would expect to die on and didn't want to deal with broken armor, which costs gold to replace, would strip before doing it--like an Alliance character going into Orgrimmar.

Broken armor is effectively not equipped. You don't get stats or any visible 3d models from them.
Repairing armor used to cost up to 0.1148 gold for a level 80 character with completely broken armor, but now it's free if you can find a repair anvil or vendor.
-
@ben_lubar said in Gilled Horse Chew:

Hm. The one time I had actual broken armor I was trying to solo that horrible urban fractal, and it took a long time to get to that point. Of course, being transmogrified into a Charr, I couldn't see my own armor.
I always assumed it cost to repair until you said it didn't. At that point I stopped worrying about running right off to get damaged stuff repaired.
Wanna check a "use my crafting items" build on GW2E and see if "broken API key" is just me?
-
@FrostCat said in Gilled Horse Chew:

The one with Dulfy as the first boss and some soldier man as the end boss and the only thing in between is a maze where the solution is always to go all the way to the left and a bunch of ascalonian NPCs?
Yeah, you probably want to use LFG to get a full party before you try any fractals. They're pretty easy with a full team of 5 and at least one experienced person.
-
@FrostCat said in Gilled Horse Chew:

Yeah, it's broken. I saw a Reddit thread about it earlier.
-
@ben_lubar I did the nuhoch egg gathering/wyvern event with Dulfy once, right after PvP season 1 began o.o I remember wondering what the little icon by their name was. Then I realized what their name was.
-
@ben_lubar Yeah, that was the one, Urban Battleground. I did manage, eventually, to kill Dulfy the same way the Doctor broke through that superdiamond wall in the last Doctor Who episode. It didn't take 50 billion years, it only felt like it.
It took about 3 more tries via LFG to find a team who wasn't entirely composed of other bumblefucks before I completed it, but it's pretty easy with a team that isn't composed of same, but I don't like it.
On the other hand, I've liked every other one I've done so far, a lot more, (Thaumanova's the highest I've gotten to so far) except Aquatic Ruins, which I don't remember having done. I must've joined a group that was at the boss or something, and who defeated it before I got my bearings, because I read the description and don't recognize being a dolphin.
-
@FrostCat the dolphin one is number 18, but you said you only got to the first reactor, which is 15.
Have you done the new chaos fractal (13) since the LW3 update? It's a mashup of a lot of different fractals. Includes: cat robots, tentacles, DDR, confusion.
-
@ben_lubar said in Gilled Horse Chew:

Wiki says it's 3 then 18. It could be wrong, I guess.

3 is the same beginning and end, but the middle is a thing where you carry a bioluminescent plant while swimming. 18's middle is turning into a tiny dolphin and being murdered by krait.

@blakeyrat BTW I should show you the new "emotions" sets they added to ESO. Drozahn on ESO is now just pissed at everything all the time, it's awesomesauce.
