I am OK with being out of fashion if that is what fashion is.

A profitable target market ... they have money and are willing to spend it on dumb stuff

Which is.... baby onesies?

It looks stupid. I can't see anyone wearing that sort of thing, not even on Canal Street.
They got some cute guys to model them, at least.

Not crowd-funded but just as stupid

@coldandtired She has that "At least I'm getting paid for this shit!" look

75% of Americans are dehydrated, and we get it. Drinking enough water is hard and it’s impossible to always carry a healthy beverage with you.
So, ass-pull figure and moronic claim? Check!
Seriously, how hard is it to stop at a shop and buy a bottle of water?
-
@RaceProUK According to the smartphone-activated water dispenser upthread, the US spends more on water than fizzy drinks.

Missing the point entirely. Half the experience is "cleaning" your finger after the chips.

Which category does fizzy water fall in to?

Stop using "International" as a synonym for "places outside the US"! It only means that if you're in the US, which those "international" buyers won't be.
Better?
(intended for proof of concept; would need some cleaning up for use in production... haha just kidding, ship it)
Reminds me of the globe of Poland:

(Yes, you can actually buy it.)

Is that... shorts? With a shirt that you can't take off?
Sounds... uh... great, if they only made them in sizes that fit the men who shouldn't take their shirts off. I don't see them being too popular on beaches otherwise.

"The RompHim, for gay hipsters who really want to show off their balls to everyone when they sit down."

@Polygeekery So... hipsters.

Those look to me like they're not exactly the same shape. Additionally, I did a GIS for S'well water bottles, and I don't see any that have a stainless-colored bottom like that water bottle in the first photo.
Looks the same shape to me... (top one does not have cap on, bottom one does)
Companies can get them customized. The one I have is a different color from that list. I would never have bought one ($$$) - but I'm definitely enjoying my freebie!
-
@dcon Look at the shape of the neck, using the ring just below the cap as a reference point.
And I saw a lot of different color options, but I didn't see any that had a colored upper body and a stainless steel base. Maybe they used to make them with stainless steel bases, and went to the whole body in one color later because it's "prettier". I dunno.

Ah - I see it now. Gen1 vs gen2? Afterall, designers must always change things. (that's SO last year.)
-
@dcon That's definitely a possibility.
-
@dcon it's a matter of survival. Who would hire full-time designers if redesigning wasn't a thing?
-
@boomzilla This thing has -at least- some trolling potential. You know, for that party that you don't really want to attend, with those people that you don't really want to meet? The one where you're absolutely forbidden from wearing that deep black hoodie?
The only problem is that you need to find a way to get there (and back) without being seen in that thing.

I first read this thinking it was about the romphim. "Stainless steel base" sounds rather uncomfortable.

I think you misspelled rohypnol.

Like what jobs?
Not quite the same, but I personally would like to be able to get a key for my wife's car for less than the $400 we were quoted to get hers copied. Especially since when we bought it (second hand) the salesman acknowledged that there should have been two keys.
If we'd realised at the time of sale that getting a copy would be so expensive we probably would have made more of a fuss about it then and insisted that one be included.

Close enough to the same, and yeah that is shitty. The markup on them is ridiculous. Have you looked to the aftermarket? Keyless entry fobs for my Lexus were retarded expensive but I picked some aftermarket ones off of eBay for ~$20/per and was able to program them myself. Of course, my vehicle is 14 years old. I will probably have sticker shock when I finally get a new vehicle and have to buy innocuous stuff like more keys and such.
-
@Polygeekery I'll have to look into that, thanks for the suggestion.
-
@Scarlet_Manuka no worries. It may or may not be possible on your car. With mine I just had to turn it on and off and on while holding some button and off and on... You get the idea. It was quite the list of shit to do and it all had to be done in X seconds or you had to start over so it took me several tries to get it to work. But it was better than giving the dealer $200 for the same damned thing.

This happened twice before I could upload the picture above.
I eventually pasted and re-copied it through an image editor before pasting it in the composer again.

I'm sure the Juicero has been posted earlier, but oh mah gawd that was entertaining.
The innards seem to be industrial design porn and the presenter's juicy accent just had me chuckling every 5 seconds. Thanks for making my day. Just goes to show how much money an Innovator can burn when it is someone else's money in the first place.
-
@JBert it was posted before. I think @Yamikuronue posted it? Look back a few pages.
And yes, AvE is one of the best people on YouTube. You should subscribe to his channel. All his videos are massively entertaining. I think @Weng and I became fans of his around the same time.

Apparently criticizing the RompHim is sexist.
