@TimeBandit nope. WordPress has a clusterfuck of design that is part of the cause of shitty plugins.
The entire WP ecosystem is a problem.

Yes?
This shouldn't be shocking, or even remotely surprising...

Status: Tried some weird battleship map in SC2 this weekend, which seems to have been an attempt to recreate Naval Battle without cannon stacking, half the ships, neutrals, or broadsiding. Still has trading, which is nice.
Except that instead of using the normal inventory system, they rolled their own; not only is it not in the normal place, nothing tells you how to open it. Which is, of course, the most logical thing in the world: 1. Not just 1, but NUMPAD 1.
People manage to find new depths of unusability every single day.

@accalia Yep, several reviews of the map made this point. Not that SC2 works very well on most laptops small enough to leave out the numpad.

@lucas1 Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

In defence of not using the built-in inventory system, I think that map pre-dates that. Still doesn't excuse the usability of course.

Status: Writing code.
To generate code.
To test code I generated.
From code in another language.
In that other language.
Which has very few local variables, opting mostly for globals.
Which means I have to find those and generate all permutations.
And weak typing, so I have to test lots of values.
Resulting in exponential complexity.
In a language with file length limits.

hmm..... one wonders how those standings would change if they were updated to reflect number of medals per participant/team
US might simply be winning because of a larger number of raw participants?
or am i misunderstanding how these things work?

US: 121/564 = 0.215 medals/athlete
GB: 67/374 = 0.179 medals/athleteTotal medals; CBA to break it down by gold/silver/bronze, at least not on mobile.

Power came back on. Sorta. Lights were flickering; motorized stuff making awful noises. Then off again. That can't be good for any of the stuff. At least the data center stayed up on emergency power for a while.
And, oddly, wifi.

@Magus Stopped it at 25 minutes in, realizing I'd forgotten to add
.Distinct()
in some key places, so it should be faster now.

It wasn't. Some stuff was pretty unhappy. It took the data center 2 or 3 hours to come back online after the power was finally restored.

Finally had time (and was in mood) to update one of the OSS projects I maintain. For the last 2 years, just merged some PRs (literally the definition of people who @blakeyrat loves in Open Sores). Was between jobs, and unhappy, did not feel like working for free. The kind of projects researchers use this library for are amazing. The library is a very very small part, but I like to think I helped some of that research :--D

That's one of the things I've specifically looked for in my last few personal laptops. My work laptop doesn't have a numpad, and I miss it. Thankfully, I do have a dock at work that has a full keyboard and a separate mouse attached.

Status: apparently flashing Cyanogenmod on my Moto G has not fixed the bug where you can't hear the other side when doing phone calls.
A reboot fixes it temporarily. But it's pretty awkward to have to say "I'm sorry, I can't hear you, I'll have to hang up now and call back in 2 minutes".

Ugh. I'm fucking sick and tired of cleaning up this guy's code.
He obviously can code, but everything he touches comes out half-assed and incomplete. He's deeply into unit tests and absolutely refuses to merge anything that isn't covered, but his own code doesn't seem to go through even the most basic manual testing. The last 3 weeks has been mostly going through his "99% completed" app and fixing all the subtle bugs and edge cases he glossed over.
I don't know if it's the lack of time, or he bites more than he can chew. Either way, he needs a team of developers going behind him and fixing his messes. I'm sick of doing that shit.

Is this where went after @arantor's company got rid of him?
-
@Jaloopa nope, didnt believe in unit tests. Or documentation, because the code was the documentation.
-
@Arantor Ahh, one of those.
This is self documenting. produces golfed, obfuscated, decompiled source code
