Why hasn't this abomination died yet?
Srly guys, why is Discourse still a thing? The layout is awful, it duplicates posts, it has a somewhat moronic structure for threads, it shows condescending messages and much, much more. I know we like crappy software in an ironic way but even Disqus would be an improvement.

RE: Frist! And Welcome
This forum is fucking awful for mobile devices, fucking unusable as I can't see what I'm posting. I had to write this in a notepad and paste it and even that was so hard that I had to request the desktop site. Another thing that CS does better

RE: Frist! And Welcome
I'm using a nexus 4 with latest android and using chrome. And no, it doesn't work unless I ask for the desktop site because I can't see what I'm typing because the keyboard and superzoomed blank textbox occupies all the goddam screen. It is wonderful that it works for you but it doesn't for me... A lot of websites don't because fuck mobile users and programming is hard. At least we won't miss the ironny of using a crappy software to complain about crappy software. :(

Read this as "where is the cool logo to impress the sluts".
I can see them impressed by 100 dollar bills but not for a logo no matter how cool it is, perhaps you have corporate sluts there. Also given the quality standard of this site I'll be surprised if it was any good. The WTF is that you have to trust them on the logo being cool and that being the only redeeming quality the company could cite.

On a totally different note what is your take on the new game? Is it worth the install, I don't have much time and I don't want to waste it in something not worthwhile. I have it but I don't know wheter to install it or not (borrowed from a mate).
I enjoyed it (I have the PC version); one of my mates pretty much can't play it at all (PS3) due to crash issues (which is mostly where my previous crashing/updating stuff comes from, since I don't have any of the newest generation. But it certainly seems that I may have been partially incorrect of course regarding the "crashing" since now that I think about it, the only games that I've ever gotten to crash were bethesda games, and every thing else seems pretty hunky-dory; the PC version for me seems to be slightly more stable. To summarize it, it really is, in a lot of ways, just more of the same stuff as fallout 3. they changed the sky and now they don't apply that "make everything grey" filter or whatever they do, and they added some fluff (crafting) but unless you wished fallout 3 was longer you might lot enjoy it. They did raise the base level cap to 30, if that helps.
Anyway, to clarify what I meant in my last post, when I said "later consoles" I meant PS3, and when I said "games" I meant Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
Point taken but I was actually talking about Dead Space 2 when I refered to the new game (check the tags), DLC don't count as new game in my book. The flaw for me is that the progresion was fucked up in Fallout 3, other than that it was a fine game, but that killed it for me, raising the cap wouldn't help much unless they fixed the progresion. At some point in the future I might play the DLC to see if they fixed this but..

Actually, it's one of my friends who has the PS3; most of what I've stated here is really just hearsay from what he's said and what I can gather from his constant bitching. Considering he's gone through about 4 or 5 PS3's I'm starting to suspect something similar is occuring to them as when his Gamecube's used to "mysteriously" break after he smashed them into a wall. (he literally didn't make the connection) Actually I feel rather silly for not realizing earlier that his aggressive nature and his constant driving force to throw things may be a pretty big factor in his PS3 issues, and no doubt the PC issues he is also complaining about.
The PS3 had some issues with the lens I think, the xbox360 had some issue at the beginning but is solved now. Err and yes hitting hardware does tend to break it, your friend is an idiot.

My point being that CLI's can really shine in specific situations even if they're about as fast or slower in other situations.
But the situations they shine in are extremely uncommon (like your example).Surely CLIs shine in any situation where somebody put a gun to your head and tells you to do the same task repeatably?
FTFY
Noboby wants to be a robot.
btw If the task are that common it is better to script them and then you are only a double click away from freedom to continue to play freecell

Because you've never - ever - released a product that was 100% bug-free, and you've never - ever - made stupid mistakes? I call bullshit.
There is a difference between a bug we don't know about and a bug that has been known for years and not fixed. The first happens to everybody, the second is plain shoddy work.

@dohpaz42 said:Waaaah! Shit happens. Let me sound like a broken record again: you could help them fix it, but you'd rather treat them like shit - almost guaranteeing that they will not fix it, and ignore you in the future - instead of helping them help you.
This is backward thinking, they are the ones with the shitty product, they should be able to handle an angry customer. If they ignore a user complain because the user is pissed with reason then they have no bussiness as professionals

RE: Nobody shares knowledge better than this
I have a question, why does this thread doesn't die?
There are two possibilities:
-
The guy is not well, if so why are you responding to him, obviosly you won't get anything completely coherent from him and making fun of retarded people gets old quickly.
-
The guy is trolling, this is verly unlikely but.. if so you are empowering him by taking him seriosly.
I suppose he is some sort of an icon for this place as is the crappy post editor and crappy loading time when you are registered (drop the tags already!), but come on people, enough is enough.
All his threads can be resumed in he making a ramdom claim, you disproving/bashing him, he ignoring/making ramdom comment/non funny wordplay and the cycle continues.
So please...

Don't jinx it, man.
If your state of mind depends on Spectate Swamp posts then he already won and next gen software will include ssds as your default search desktop tool.
I would have thougth that linux users would love this, it has every ingredient that makes the average linux software: poor gui, having to know how this works and sometimes adding funtionality, open source, free, text commands, extremely configurable stuff, recompiling, dead funtionalities, etc.
Its linux in a nutshell, so if this is ported, it will fit right in with the other great software that linux have.
