RE: Adobe: What's Mixed Content?
I know you're a troll, but this... I don't even
But in this case you are trolling me with your ignorance belief system. So I am failing to understand your statement. Is this some kind of Russian Reversal joke that I am not getting?

RE: Bookkeeping code or: how I learned to stop worrying and love data duplication
I feel like I'm walking into an ambush here but wouldn't you use ...
<code> TRUNCATE [TABLE] </code>
There are instances where TRUNCATE simply doesn't work. One is FKEY reference. If the table you're referencing is having a foreign key referencing it, database will not allow TRUNCATE.
Here is sql server fiddle for that.

RE: Badge suggestions - ones with added thought
Flash Hater Badge for all people hating on adobe flash product.

RE: Adobe: What's Mixed Content?
Not on Linux. But yeah, fuck those guys, right?
What are you saying? It is updating on both linux as well as mac. Most linux systems are secure so patch work is not required as frequently as windows boxes.
Also insecure == bad, but fixing insecurity == good.

RE: Adobe: What's Mixed Content?
I am only amazed by the ignorance in the thread. Flash was a good technology, but what happened is three things.
- Too much power used for animation --> Unsuitable for mobile platform. Also all developer were doing like 400 fps and they had to slow it down for cell phone app.
- Adventure of HTML5 --> After HTML5 came on board they rallied for it.
- Hackers --> Too many loop holes and exploits in flash. Today also flash player updating steadily every week. Each time adobe find exploit, they close it. Average user refuse to patch and then suddenly someone is taking control of your box.

RE: Adobe: What's Mixed Content?
FTFY
What are you saying? Flash was working on the many Mac machines. It was only when Apple went to Iphone they decided that Flash was bad.
-
RE: Adobe: What's Mixed Content?
Cold Fusion was having MVC before Ruby on Rails was thinking about it.
-
RE: Adobe: What's Mixed Content?
You'd think Adobe of all people would get that one right, but no. It merely serves to demonstrate just how full of WTFery Flash is.
Flash was really good until Apple and Jobs decided that they won't play with that rule on iPhone. Then suddenly everyone is creaming, "Flash is bad", "Flash is killing batteries", "Flash is causing unborn children to evaporate".

RE: Why is there an edit time limit?
yes that is what I meant by "sea of postage". I should have said "sea of postings" and your brain could have processed it faster.

RE: Poll: What are your Discourse Syndrome Symptoms?
I keep looking for the like button on all the other forums I read. But they don't have it.

RE: So long and thanks for all the bugs!

RE: So long and thanks for all the bugs!
Six stickers. Totally worth it.
When they send more marketing brochure to your hose, then you will realise that the six stickers were cheaper to buy.

RE: So long and thanks for all the bugs!
Look what arrived in the post today!
<img src="/uploads/default/4025/5841ae69637efeea.jpg" width="690" height="265">
So you are one of the hapless fellow who has given out his address to these people. I mean they could trace you through their IP, but you just sold your privacy for one sticker.

RE: I thought education was a priority for the UK government
How's your healthcare system?
Modeled after British. Same long wait lines for free health care. Much longer since Government hospitals can only do so much Also a very expensive private healthcare system, where some healthcare provider is running hospital and is also a corporation.
Filed Under: How can I guard shareholder interest and patient interest at same time?

RE: I thought education was a priority for the UK government
I think I should look for a different country. Any recommendations?
Welcome to India! Bring your money with you.

RE: Why is there an edit time limit?
Actually, it's a year by default. @PJH and @dhromed set it to a day or something.
Obviously Evil-dooers!!
-
RE: Why is there an edit time limit?
Just out of curiosity, why do we limit how long you can edit the first post? Ongoing list topics (IE: My filenotfoundstorage.com post) are intended to be consistently updated with the most recent information.
It is logical to have an edit time limit if people cannot see what was edited. Otherwise entire conversation in dickcourse will go belly-up in the sinking sea of vast postage.

RE: Brazil is out!
I am noticing that @HardwareGeek is still finding it hard to read my

On reading that, I had to chuckle about Spolsky talking about why people should not use Java.
Every language is having pitfalls, but "guru" like Spolsky and Atwood like to comment on failures of a language. This is like saying in "Middle Ages". HEy don't take sword to the battle, take bow and arrow. Everyone may not be good with "Bow and Arrow". Each warrior is choosing his weapon, just like each programmer is having a preference. You can-not expect a spear warrior to suddenly pick sword up and start fighting like bruce-lee. I am devoting, but I hope you understand what I am trying to say.
Another word is that you don't want a heart surgeon to operate on removal of brain tumor no matter how good he is at heart surgery. Or a brain surgeon to deliver your baby, though mostly he could mangle that part.

RE: Poll: Which emoji resemble the animal it should resemble the most?

RE: FileNotFoundStorage.com Design Document
Nice, the double whammy of language and host provider.
I'm going with c# .net and godaddy though. Make of that what you will.
choosing c# over django is insulting to Guido.

Just disable the transaction log, you'll be fine.
I hoped that was posted as a joke. There are no transaction logs to be disabled.

I present to you:
http://filenotfoundstorage.com/
For $1.99 for a year, I'll run with that joke.
Maybe I'll do something with it.
This is reminding of an incident where a forum user who hired an actress to prove that he was a girl.
It really happened. -
