Ha, that's nifty. People I saw doing that () didn't have those, though. Just plain ol' all-same-looking ones.

RE: Fuck you Microsoft and your extremely narrow world-view
Interchangeable heads on an electric toothbrush are kind of like user accounts.
I've seen people do it, but it was always hard to grasp for me: how do you keep track of to whom belongs which head.

RE: Fuck you, Wikipedia
In the US it's regular income, so it's taxed at whatever marginal rate you're at.
This also strikes me as... fucking stupid.
-
RE: Fuck you, Wikipedia
Nope, it's from the interest you get. So for every 100 PLN earned this way, you get only 81 PLN. Why? Because.
It was introduced as a temporal way to deal with
<something>
. It stayed this way around a decade now. -
RE: Fuck you, Wikipedia
Well, actually I think, that VAT's the most fair type of all the taxes. Not only compared to income tax; we have a 19% savings tax here in Poland, FFS.
-
RE: Fuck you, Wikipedia
Yeah, but it actually isn't the highest in the EU, it's somewhere in the middle.
And that's fucking horrifying.
-
RE: Fuck you, Wikipedia
(Americano = water = cheaper, while a mocha = no water = more pricey).
Yeah, in Poland there are a few VAT tax rates (IIRC 3). The highest one is 23%. The preferential one, for food mostly is 8%. It used to be that coffee was taxed with 8% rate, but now this is only true for black coffee. If you add something to it, it's 23% for you and fuck you in your face.

Actually, drag'n'drop is fun and easy, nowadays. Don't know
what frameworks you're allowed to useif you're allowed to use frameworks but as far as I can tell, it's extremely easy with $() alone. -

That doesn't sound that bad, actually.
edit: discourse broke
Fixed!

RE: Eurosport Player cannot Firefox
Ooooooooooohh I'd get it just for that!
UK Championship's coming, 24 November - 6 December. It's cheap, here in Poland it costs around $4/mo.

RE: Downloading MS SQL Server
I managed to find some script that reset Windows update state, then a reboot helped. But thanks anyway.

RE: The real WTF: transportation in Seattle
I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying it's hard, especially when cars take preference before bikes, due to the culture thing.
It's still certainly possible. I really wish it'd be being done, especially in Kraków, third most polluted in EU.
-
RE: The real WTF: transportation in Seattle
Yeah, I get it. I also know, that you have a long tradition of bike riding, I'm sure I've read in Karel Čapek's travel notes, that he's been admiring it in 1920s or 1930s already. I also know that it's hard to convert modern cities with architecture pre-20th-century and often even going as far back as 1500-1600, like Kraków I live in.
Despite all those reasons, it's awesome and impressive.

RE: Chrome ignores keyboard locales
I think you should be happy it lets you type at all.
It was created by a company that thinks there's no need to ask, if you're you want to close a window with those 100 tabs you've got open.
Oh, wait, that not true, they think that only Mac users might need this option and Windows (Linux too?) users should go
fuckfund themselves. -
RE: Downloading MS SQL Server
There used to be a regedit tweak that could bring it back, but it was disabled around the launch date, I think. Now it's just a metro update applet with their fucking narrow world-view.
-
RE: Downloading MS SQL Server
Nope. You just be using the Sane Edition or something. Pro doesn't have that.
-
RE: Downloading MS SQL Server
Have not experience that on my Surface Pro 3 + Win10 + VS2015 box. Maybe something you've installed broke the installer database?
Well, all I meant was that VS 2015 is buggy.
What really grinds my gears about this Windows update thing is, they've thrown out the old and broken (but less) applet and replaced it with this awful oversimplified tablet-y thingy, so that now you can't see what's going on. Don't get me wrong, I like simple things, I own an iPhone for god sakes, but they gave to fucking WORK, otherwise they turn into impossible to troubleshoot nuisances.
-
RE: Downloading MS SQL Server
For me, it happens on laptop. I'll have to try that, thanks.
I'm just tired of having to fight with OS every day. I just wish I could just permanently switch to Linux.
-
RE: Eurosport Player cannot Firefox
Well, MMDV, I haven't had problems with Firefox hogging memory for some time now. But it used to be a problem like a two years ago.
Maybe change your distro?
-
RE: The real WTF: transportation in Seattle
Well, you could as well have said that the right way is to not ride a bike in a city at all. There are very few bike lanes, you are mostly either illegally and dickishly inconveniencing pedestrians, or obediently trying not to get hit by cars going up to 80 Kmph.
So, good fucking luck.
I really do envy the Dutch. Oh, how much do I envy them!

RE: Github desktop - how do I refresh from master
Solution to the OP's problem: you do not refresh from master, it's the master who can choose to refresh you.

RE: Downloading MS SQL Server
Are you even surprised? I can't fucking update my Windows 10 box, I get some fucking 0xSomeNumberError and Windows Update's been eating ~20% of my CPU for the past 3 days without downloading/installing anything. Add VS2015 to the list and what you get is: this shit ain't working.
I clicked on help link for "defer updates" option in Settings and all I got was a bing search results for some fucking hard coded search
germterm. This shit ain't working, I miss my win7/VS2013 conbo. But it looked worse.

RE: Eurosport Player cannot Firefox
Firefox is, in some ways, the new Internet Explorer. It comes bundled by default with several linux distributions
That's the only one similarity. Show me others, cause I can't see it. It's a great browser, in terms of usability Chrome is on par with it, so personal preference is the deciding factor here, and all IEs, Edges are worse and less popular.
-
RE: Eurosport Player cannot Firefox
Well, for one thing, because they have this nifty thing "remember me" and it beats the purpose. I don't want to re-log-in every time I happen to be running a different browser.
If they really wanted to do this, they could at least block the player and don't touch fucking login status.
-
RE: Eurosport Player cannot Firefox
BTW, its interesting how those stats are accurate and measured.

RE: Eurosport Player cannot Firefox
Presumably there's some DRM that the site requires that Firefox doesn't support because "letting people pay for stuff is bad".
When they had the Silverlight stuff up. they ran into problems with Firefox and thus implemented this conditional blocking portal.
Silverlight used to work fine a year ago. Plus, WTF? How can it be it doesn't work with the second most popular browser. Because of nor articulated raisins.
They don't respect people! ARGWLBARR!!!!
-
RE: Eurosport Player cannot Firefox
Ok, I checked and it looks like in fact, it works with Chrome and Edge without Silverlight, it's needed only for Firefox. Still no idea why it fails, though.
Bad foxy, bad!

RE: Eurosport Player cannot Firefox
Or are you saying you bought a subscription to buy something else to watch while the tedious boring ski jumping is going on?
Yup, I'm also counting on some nice snooker tournaments.
-
RE: The real WTF: transportation in Seattle
So... what do you do if you have a bike and you want to take it on the bus? Just cram it in the handicapped area and say "fuck you" to everybody you're displacing?
In Poland that's the right thing to do. Why would you bother about other people, are you a fucking socialist or something?
-
RE: The real WTF: transportation in Seattle
Also you forgot the ferries.
The proper term is "gays", you intolerant piece of shit!
-
Eurosport Player cannot Firefox
OK, so today starts the new ski jumping season, so, as usual, I headed to eurosportplayer.com to purchase a subscription.
Everything went spectacularly well and their player seems to be improving every year, so I was eager to test it. And this is what I got under Firefox:
Text translates to: "How do I turn on Silverlight addon?" "You can also use one of the following browser:"BTW, the fact that there are two languages is probably another symptom of the TRWTF.
Well, I checked about:addons and sure enough, Silverlight plugin is there, listed. OK, but it's set to "always ask", maybe the player has some custom code that checks if it can run Silverlight and since it cannot, 'cause I didn't explicitly allow it, it fails. Changed it to "always allow". Rechecked.
Fail.
Fucking fail.
But did you notice, that they have only to logos there, Windows (Edge, IE) and Chrome? Well, it works beautifully with Edge. (BTW, checking it out on Edge logged me out on Firefox. Fucking stupid morons.)
So, what's so bad about FF that they cannot allow it? They weren't paid to do so, or are they just plain lazy and incompetent?

RE: Non-Privacy Policy
Can we advocate for "lyinars"?
Well, why not "sodium-hydroxide-mixed-with-liquid-ars", or "soapinars" for short, then?

RE: Pedantic Dickweedery At The Movies
Alex Weinberg is a structural engineer who has a big problem with how movies portray the destruction of bridges, and is particularly upset about suspension bridges.
-- snip --
Whenever I see an article like this I am reminded of a piece I read many
years ago where some "scientist" explained why most of the technology
in Star Trek can't actually work. And a couple of years ago celebrity
astronomer Neil Degrasse Tyson wrote a piece about the "scientific
inaccuracies" in the George Clooney/Sandra Bullock move Gravity.Well, these are two totally different things. The first one can completely change the way we think about the world and see it, the other (Star Trek) one is an obvious hoax and doesn't change your world view.
I have no problem with people pointing out inaccuracies in movies, especially since a lot of those inaccuracies comes from plain laziness and lack of attention to detail. If hundreds of millions of dollars is spent on a movie, they could spare a million or a half and work with experts to make it realistic.
Just sayin'.

RE: Non-Privacy Policy
I think Oracle also use it
And all of the guys doing Internet marketing.
Sometimes they also call it "superwebinars" or "superbinars", or "i'll-show-you-a-way-to-be-ultimate-money-making-get-rich-and-be-awesome-by-buying-my-products-inars".

Consult a psychologist.
QFT. why would you want to run vi, if vim's soooo much better?
