Quantum doesn't work like that guys.... a turbojet engine is not a quantum system so quantum effects do not dominate its behavior.
seriously, stop sprinkling the word quantum around like it's magick pixie dust.....
And the funny part is, of course, if he hadn't done that, no one would have known or cared about some random guy's post about a Tesla event starting late.
clearly, Musk comes from the Jeff Atwood school of interpersonal relations.
I drive by autopilot. last saturday i left the house at 0700 to pick up a quart of milk, and parked at the office twenty minutes later.
the store is five minutes from my house.
How the fuck did we not discover that one?
/me sheepishly raises a hand
i may have tried to create a sockpuppet with the entire text of a novel as its password....
If you can abide by those rules, then welcome! If not, then GTFO.
what if you can abide by the rules but choose not to?
hmm.... if this is the likes thread....
Oy! I think that fits under the "If not" portion.
but i can abide by the rules. I just enjoy not doing so!
Need I remind you who is generating these guids?
/me is waiting for the time when they decide they need a "GUID CDN"

LOL. The joke's on you, Microsoft. I removed Edge.
Jokes on Microsoft indeed. i removed WINDOWS
unrelatedly, now there's quite the draft in here.....

That's fine with me, since I don't want to use it in the first place.
I have to. Can't access my paystubs otherwise since our work web site doesn't work in Firefox.
at this point..... that has to be corporate malice deliberately breaking the site for FF.......

Edge is the browser replacing IE,Yeah, good luck with that.
Hello from the future. Or as we call it these days: the present.
well....
to be fair, it's not because it's the best browser..... it's just Microsoft has made it painful to try to use any other browser, especially long term.
mob tactics do work when the police are looking elsewhere, or are told to look elsewhere if they know what's good for them, ya shee?
Is dwane the rock lobster that ol.... oh. nope. not that at all. but i did immediately think of that so.... here you go.... Dwane the Rock Lobster:
@HardwareGeek said in WTF is happening with Windows 10? And nothing else:
that key is.... just a macro key for + C..... gawd.....
you know what annoys me more than adding the physical key on the keyboard..... they can't bring themselves to add a new keycode for it so it's an actual key, noooooo it has to be a hardcoded macro key that presses a predefined key combo... it's a microsoft keyboard for a microsoft operating system.... there is LITERALLY no reason they couldn't just add a new keycode. they don't even have to make it a standard code. the USB device specification allows for vendor specific keys already!
and this one is only a two key combo. at least the linked in shortcut was practically all buckybits so it was impressively unlikely anyone had already used that key combo.... how many people are gonna have their keybinds broken because they happened to use + C as a hotkey?

then after Apple got away with it they decided that Professional branded devices only need one USB port for power and data..... and other laptop manufacturers followed suit....
Um, my MacBook Pro has 2x USB-C sockets? (It wasn’t my choice, work bought it. Paltry 8GB RAM is a bigger headache for me.)
I sit corrected on the count of ports.
Lenovo on the other hand had decided the laptop they'd make would only have one USB port..... for reasons......
/shrug ah well, it's wiped and validated and now off my desk and in the hands of someone else making it there problem
@Gern_Blaanston said in WTF is happening with Windows 11? And nothing else:
But only one USB port. My old laptop that was built when Windows 7 was new has four.
blame Apple. they were "Brave" enough to delete the headphone port on their phones, because who uses headphones anymore?
Not me that's for sure.... I dont' use headphones at all.... :rolling_eyes_so_hard_i_get_a_migraine:

so i had to create a local account
i've been informed that i could have entered audit mode and that would have let me install the drivers i needed.....
i didn't know thataudit mode existed
it's still fucked up that the keyb, trackpad and wifi didnt' work in Win11 OOBE when they did out of the box with the Win10 OOBE
even if i did know it existed the whole one usb port and no on hand hubs would have made it difficult to do anything if the built in keyb and trackpad continued to not work in audit mode....
@Zerosquare my reaction exactly. no idea why the keyb wouldnt' work in the installer.... but it's windoes, by now i'm not surprised.....
