Vote counting

(insert joke about election fraud)
I had a topic opened yesterday evening and this morning there was a new post added, but somehow the vote count was wrong:
This isn't a downvoting thing since 1) it's definitely not the kind of post that would get massively downvoted and more importantly 2) reloading the page updated the vote counter to the right number (6 here).
Also while typing the topic here suggested this thread which is an issue that happens often to me (flickering popup for votes), so much that I spent maybe a minute before managing to get the popup to stay on for long enough for me to take a snapshot.

I've had just stop bothering like that, yes. Usually when some massive download takes the whole bandwidth for some time. Upboating and posting displays new stuff correctly, but still wouldn't bother to recover the websocket that pushes other upboats, posts and notifications.
I afforded the possibility that it was me using version of Firefox, but evidently then it's a problem. Also, the flickering is still a thing, yes.

This happened with an hibernate in between, and going to sleep connected to VPN and waking up connected directly to work's network, so yeah, clearly network shenanigans happened.
Above the fact that it's not really an excuse, it's weird because AFAICT the vote popup doesn't do any sort of network request (it never lags) which means the information is stored locally which means whenever it stores that information it should update the vote count, and yet it didn't.

This happens to me all the time, with an hibernation in between, yes.

All winter if I could.
Summer too. I'd like to like spring, but unfortunately .

Wohin willst du springen?
Off a bridge, most days.

I believe this happens because the hooks that watch for vote updates don't get Re attached when the websocket reconnects.

NodeBB has adopted the -philosophy.
(This might actually be the first real breakthrough in AGI.)

Probably for the same reason (apparently) most people react to cotton swabs in the ear with a little cough.
