Flickering vote count tooltip thingy
-
No mouse movement occurred after the first two seconds.
-
@pie_flavor what did you record this with? Usually there's a "show mouse pointer" option or something like that so you don't have to type out a comment above the video.
-
@ben_lubar ShareX; the mouse pointer appeared but it probably appeared several hundred pixels to the left, i.e. off-camera. That happens when I'm only doing a region of the screen; the mouse pointer support works fine when the whole screen is recorded.
-
@pie_flavor yay, recursive bugs!
-
@pie_flavor I sometimes get one where the names popup and immediately disappear. In fact I had it just now, but Camtasia kept crashing when I tried to record it and now it's not happening any more. Woo, computer software
-
@hungrier A very easy way to repro is find a post with a couple of likes, make the popup appear, and then move the mouse up so it's between the bottom of the popup's point and the bottom of the rest of the popup box.
-
@pie_flavor or just put the mouse above the middle of the vote number and then slowly move it down until that starts happening.
-
@pie_flavor I didn't deliberately do it but I did manage to get the recording working.
@ben_lubar is there a way to automagically embed uploaded videos? Doing it manually works but
-
@ben_lubar If you do it that way, sometimes it disappears and doesn't reappear, and other times it blinks much more slowly.

This is the 3px bullshit all over again.

When did that become an actual emoji? 🤔
-
@topspin
it is contradicting ... because creating that must have been work ...
-
Yeah, I've seen that bullshit too.
Also, the cursor doesn't switch to pointer to indicate you can click the number for the votes popup.

It also looks nothing like a button or even a link....

I had partially written this post last night and then red-boobed and forgot to post it. Anyway I can trigger the blinky version pretty easily, but only if I'm trying to do it. I've never seen it happen on its own. The disappearing one happens seemingly at random, and stays that way for the post that it happens on. Overall it's not much of a bother either way.
Actually, doing the blinky one resets it.
