@Zerosquare I only go in on Wednesdays. Like that, I have time to recover before the weekend.

That doesn't sound like a fun place.

Travis County issues disaster declaration ahead of total solar eclipse
Travis County issues disaster declaration ahead of total solar eclipse – 21:15
— KXANThe explanation does kinda make some sense. They expect to population of the county to possibly as much as double that day, as people travel from other places to view the eclipse, and the declaration will allow emergency services to be prepared ahead of time to deal with the crowds, traffic, etc. But the headline is certainly a .

@DogsB TFA is paywalled for me. Did he say he didn't see it, or was it a suicide attempt?

I was able to read a fair bit before the paywall kicked in, but I didn't see anything about a reason for running into the wall.

You’re in the wrong thread for that. Don’t make me tap the.sign.

There aren't many details in other articles, but other articles mention at least 1 other vehicle being involved. Sounds like an accident that happened to end up with one car hitting a wall.

It's not in the spirit of the thread.

I don’t think we need an article to know explosives and farm animals don’t mix well.
-
@DogsB I choose to read the headline up to and excluding the first 'and'.

Man charged over using van to kidnap woman on Tuesday
I’m confused, is he been arrested for using a van to kidnap a woman or for kidnapping a woman.
-
@DogsB It's for doing a kidnapping on a Tuesday.
-
@Zecc You need to consider all of the factors — vehicle, day of the week, intended victim, and possibly others — when kidnapping people. For example, if you want to kidnap children, a windowless van, preferably crudely lettered FREE CANDY, on Saturday is the way to go, although there's some dependency on weather; during the summer, FREE ICE CREAM might be a better choice. OTOH, if you want to kidnap adult men, a fishing boat with a FREE BEER sign would usually be a better tactic.
-
@HardwareGeek you seem to know a lot about kidnapping children...

@DogsB Were the student and thief in Limerick at the time, or was that just some previous encounter? (Not gonna read the article to find out...)

Yes, I agree.
This should have been a story about someone who asks directions and the other person gives him the directions in a limerick.
There once was a shop on the corner
.... etc.Instead it's just a story about someone having his wallet stolen.
