Came in at a shade under 6 minutes (05:59.39) - the early start was a bit bumpy, but had a few lucky guesses in my favour at the start so I thought I was on course for a 34, made a bad guess around turn 13 but that didn’t annoy me too much.

But I am disappointed that I screwed up the last word, where I did have the information to not make the wrong guess but I leapt to a conclusion (going for the more common of the two words and the actual answer was a transposition of the first two letters - for which I knew the first letter shouldn’t go in the second spot).

Bah, I say, bah.

But the opening is rough enough and relies too much on good guesses with these two that it’s time to switch it up tomorrow.

Backspace is a stupid key to use as a shortcut. I don't care if there's historic weight behind it.

The unfortunate thing is that it works fine on some of the *ordle sites and not on others.

And yes, I guess I could remove it from the list of things that do the Back action. I don't use it that much compared to mouse gestures.

Specifically…

I got caught out with `_MBER` being EMBER not UMBRE and somehow I turned `FU__E` into “this is FUGUE when it was in fact FUDGE”

Hmm, must think on what words to try next.

It's good that I'm ESL. This allows me not to make mistakes like that, because I don't even know the word

@Applied-Mediocrity I’m in that weird place because the author uses Leftpondian English so I have to remember to keep the word pool open to that. All the “it should have a u” words, plus “it should end in re not er” and occasional other divergent spellings.
