@dcon It's kinda versatile. If you feel fancy, press each key in turn. If you're in a hurry, just press the first two. Either way, message delivered.

ITYM “fora”
-
@kazitor I’ll start using “fora” when you people stop using “indexes”.
-
@kazitor Well, actually...
-
@kazitor Poster is missing one category of people: karma whores. They tend to write a 40 page essay filled with irrelevant information before answering a question. Fortunately, they mostly exist on SO only.
E.g.:
Q: Does it rain?
A: Rain is colloquially used to describe the process wherein small droplets of liquid water fall, under the pull of gravity, from the sky. In some cases, rain has been reported to be carried by wind (discussed in Chapter 2 below), creating a kind of rain that moves not only vertically but also horizontally. This type of horizontal movement greatly reduces the efficacy of rain prevention gear such as umbrellas (Chapter 3). The discovery of rain is commonly attributed to Aristotle. However, historians have found mentions of rain in documents predating Aristotle, leading to the belief that rain has existed prior to Aristotle's time. Chapter 1 will nevertheless begin with a description of Aristotelian rain and later introduce more modern models.<snip: at least three chapters of irrelevant BS />
In conclusion, with the provided definition of "rain" you can easily find the answer to your original question by consulting with the local weather service.

A: What do you mean, "does it rain"? If it didn't rain, we wouldn't even have a name for the phenomenon to begin with! Can a mod please correct this to "is it raining"?
-
@LaoC if only one could add audio annotations.
I’d try and do a reasonable Laurence Olivier voice impression with the words “Rain? No, no, it’s precipitation, dear boy.”
I don’t know why this feels right in my head but it does.

was one of the DOS executable formats. It assumed that everything used the same segment, and thus that it was limited to using at most 64kB of memory (plus whatever was managed by the OS, such as display memory). It did not need a complex loader; the image on disk was just copied into memory and execution started directly from the beginning of it.
.EXE
was the other DOS executable format, which was much more flexible (you could access the whole 20 bit address space!) but more complex to write and read.

Yes, you can touch it and it jumps you to a random-ass post from years ago. Or you can touch one of the up/down buttons and it goes to
the next/previous pagea random-ass post from years ago.
Useful.
