@Arantor in retrospect you appear to think I was joking.
-
@Gribnit no, not at all. It's that you seem to think I've only ever worked on one PHP project and that it's always been that awful... I actually write PHP for a living and maintain a number of different sites just in my current role - and none of them are like that.
Hint: there isn't another lounge thread for current circumstances because I'm not i nthe middle of a hellstew of stupid. Even though it's all PHP.

Hey if you're bored or kinky you might peek upon my shitshow of a rewrite I'm doing. Now that I'm trying to deadline the project there's actually commits and Shit!
I'm even trying the injections of dependents!

@Benjamin-Hall only if you're talking to an ornithologist. A specialist ornithologist.

My then-GF used to be a specialist ornithologist, working with migratory birds. She was semi-amused when she told me in German and my dad-joker reaction was just "eww".
The dative case of "migratory birds", "zugvögeln", is the same word as "to fuck on a train".

First I was but on second thought I can see how it makes sense.
-
@LaoC This reminds me of a song I heard on the radio (I don't know why they were playing it) about a fictional bird whose name I'll translate as 'Kingfu". Say that ten times fast.
The Dutch name was Keneu, if I remember correctly and you care.

Always keenneukeeneuke to learn "fuck" in more languages!

Checks out.

@Tsaukpaetra Hmm. Think "train banging" would be a better translation.

With the space, "zug" is more likely to be an accusative object of a transitive verb, "to bang a train", while as a prefix it could be understood as a location—at least I've heard "aufzugficken" as a category, "to fuck in an elevator".

Speaking of German - I always wondered how ABZUGSZÜNGELWARNUNG sounds to actual German speakers.
-
@PleegWat I misremembered the Dutch name; it was Kneu.

Let’s put it like that: you had to post it like 5 times before I understood what you mean.

I guess the confusion it causes may be considered a feature.

@topspin I was going for "Engrish" feel. Something so obviously wrong it hurts, but if you try to back-translate it word for word it should be pretty easy to figure out what they intended to say.
-
@PleegWat On one side: I know enough dutch to understand those lyrics!
On the other side: I know enough dutch to understand those lyrics.

De Marc Ation. Do you have a Jibberer's License? If you'd applied the same to the semantics, who knows what would have happened, but I bet I'd ask rhetorical questions about it.
Pointed rhetorical questions.

Dafuq. Is that a like warning label not to lick the trigger of a gun or a kitchen exhaust? I mean … good advice both of them, but I didn't know there's a word for it.
