Welcome to "Hunt the Wumpus" ÂThe Wumpus lives in a cave of 20 rooms. Each room has 3 tunnels leading to other Ârooms. (Look at a dodecahedron to see how this works -- if you don't know what a Âdodecahedron is, ask someone.) Â ÂHazards: ÂBottomless pits: Two rooms have bottomless pits in them. If you go there, you Âfall into the pit and lose. ÂSuper bats: Two other rooms have super bats. If you go there, a bat grabs you Âand takes you to some other room at random. (Which might be troublesome...) Â ÂWumpus: ÂThe Wumpus is not bothered by the hazards -- he has sucker feet and is too big Âfor a bat to lift. Usually he is asleep. Two things wake him up: you entering Âhis room or you shooting an arrow. ÂIf the Wumpus wakes, he either stays still or moves through one tunnel. After Âthat, if he is where you are, he eats you up (and you lose). Â ÂYou: ÂEach turn you may move or shoot a crooked arrow.Moving: You can go one room (th[

Each turn you may move or shoot a crooked arrow. ÂMoving: You can go one room (through one tunnel). ÂArrows: You have five arrows. You lose when you run out. Each arrow can go from Âone to five rooms. You aim by providing the room numbers you want the arrow to Âgo to. If the arrow can't go that way, it goes through any tunnel at random. If Âthe arrow hits the Wumus, you win. If the arrow hits you, you lose. Â ÂWarnings: ÂWhen you are one room away from the Wumpus or a hazard, you'll see "I hear Âbats!", "I feel a draft!", and/or "I smell the Wumpus!". Â ÂPorting note: from TwelveBaud ÂInform 7, which was used to write this port, is a very powerful system for Âwriting interactive fiction, and comes with an extensive built-in rulebook Âhandling all kinds of situations common to text adventure games, from Colossal ÂCave Adventure through the Zork series and Infocom's golden years and even in Âthe current day. However, "Hunt the Wumpus" was developed at around the same Âtime as the first of these other games for much less capable systems, and as a Âresult doesn't use any of the traits in the now-standard rulebook. The original Âgame requested navigation by room numbers; instead, this game lets you navigate Âwest, north, or east, or fire an arrow. Â ÂHunt the Wumpus Â[MORE]

Weird. Child process accepting/processing input, seems to be sending output. Bot is ignoring it?
