Uderzo, drawer of the Asterix and Obelix comics, died at age 92.

Not really well known (even in France, although he had his moment 10-15 years ago), but notable to me as maybe one of the first high-ish profile victim of the virus (same goes for the previous one (Manu Dibango)). It will be interesting (in the Chinese sense...) to see at the end of the year if that thread has seen much more activity than previous years'.

My (somewhat ghoulish) prediction: not much different. Other diseases are being reduced by the social distancing too.
-
@dkf But older people (who are, no surprise, those who die the most!) tend to die of a range of other issues than communicable diseases. AFAIR the two biggest causes of deaths in first world countries are cancer and cardio-vascular diseases, and there are no reasons to see any significant change in those two (marginally, people might get different health care because hospitals are changing how they work, and people staying at home might have slightly different risks of e.g. heart attacks, but that's unlikely to really have a visible first-order impact on, well, anything).
In any case, that thread is just a very, very biased sample (for so many reasons), so it won't mean anything, but it's just a... well not "fun", but let's say "different" way to look at this.

Though many baseball players are known for their acid wit, Al Kaline was a basic guy.

A former roommate was a 1950's fan, so I heard his songs many, many, many times.

@jinpa When I was in sixth grade there was an ice cream shop that had oldies album covers everywhere, one of them being "Here's Little Richard" my best friend and I would snicker like idiots saying "heh heh its really saying here's little dick"
