Why would I prefer a different kind of ?
I am sure your has only a slightly different tan level.

No, we just blame autocarrot.

The first rule of
degenerate clubWTDWTF is that we don't ask each other about our degenerate typing. Most of us use
fduck typing anyway, so we can be all sorts of degenerates as the need arises!

Thanks. I do not need a reboot, and my laptop just did a good reboot.

This company invented a very cute CSS (?) to make their job offers really transparent:
I tested with both FireFox and Chrome - looks the same.
-
Scrum is usually done wrong. Look at this job offer for a Product Owner who is also a software developer:
Let me guess, their Scrum Master is a software developer, too?

I was told that scrum master is supposed to deal with organizational problems and personal conflicts. That does not require them to have any experience programming, though some experience with software development in general is desirable.

@Bulb said in Error'd Bites:

I had one who apparently misunderstood. He thought it was his job to cause organizational problems and personal conflicts.
-
@Bulb said in Error'd Bites:

Exactly. And the precondition for that job is that he is not a party of the conflict. Working as a software developer at the same time would mean that he is one-sided.
-
@BernieTheBernie but itβs fine if he is the conflict, just not party to it

@Tsaukpaetra ΒΉ Β² Β³
ΒΉ Never mind the ponies walking on water, but the merponies look like a four year old kid drew them. Especially their tails.
Β² The whole thing looks like the design team didn't include a decent artist, so it was cobbled together from spites picked all over the place.

A consequence of throwing a bad model into a skeleton it was never designed for. I think they're supposed to be from Gen 1 of MLP?

Likely.

Windows Update is so bad it's spilling over into Linux updates.
Installing Edge sure was an error in hindsight...
-
@Atazhaia It's not even that big. The linux-firmware is bigger. The Microsoft repository seems a bit slower though. See, they are a small company, they don't have that much money for infrastructureΒΉ.
-
@Bulb they spent all their money on this thing called Azure? No wonder they have no money left for infrastructure.
-
@Bulb At the time I took the screenshot the only download left was Edge, so the download speed was 100% Microsoft at that point. And it did jump up and down quite a bit (up to ~1MB/s and down to, well). The other download finished in seconds.
-
@Atazhaia 84.1 kilobyte per second... That's an impressive download speed. How many squirrels are using the wires currently?

Bury those wires to avoid squirrel trouble! And watch out for those moles...

The german unemployment authority offers a lot of trainings. So I searched for some courses on azure development. Their search site is quite funny: the page navigation starts (user-friendly) with
1
, but in the URL it is0
. Bad Bernie manipulated the URL to get forward in larger steps (the course titles get repeated too often because a course is offered in many places), and voilΓ , it was a little too far:
You see in the URLseite=19
(i.e.page=19
), in the navigation you see1 ... 19 20 18
. Well, that's a little odd.
And also:Treffer 381 bis 342
(hits 381 to 342
).
-
@BernieTheBernie I can actually reason out everything that's happening here. Bad user, spank spank!

Their logo looks like Adobe's. So I'm not surprised it delivers similar results.
-
@Zerosquare well, at least Adobe stuff works some of the time.
They just drink coffee and complain they have too much to do. Almost like us here, but without ever producing anything.

@kazitor I willingly subscribe to PS because GIMP made me loathe it that much.

Photoshop lulls you into a false sense of security by offering an array of options that all look like they should move towards the goal, yet each bafflingly throws everything into disarray in entirely different and inexplicable ways.
Whereas with GIMP, you know off the bat that whatever you want to do isnβt possible without some mind-bending workaround that was probably removed two versions ago.
-
@kazitor yes, thatβs completely true. Unfortunately in GIMPβs case that extends to basic drawing operations as well.

Yes. But I have an excuse: when I posted that, it was Friday afternoon.
-
@Zerosquare The way it was was good. It had the implication of difficulty in the simple operations.
I'd care more about this if I could draw anything (other than diagrams). As it is, I simply know these are all tools for others, not me. Heck, I prefer to create my diagrams by programming them.

Perhaps one day someone will create a visual programming UI for creating programs that write diagrams.
