Renewing a domain shortly - thinking about transferring...
-
I have two domains (both
.com
), one of which is up for renewal shortly. Recommendations are welcome. I currently pay US$20/domain/year.

@lolwhat I admit I haven't really done much with it besides just doing a placeholder and setting up Google for Business with it for a hobby business, but I found https://domains.google.com to be straight-forward. I didn't try a transfer from a different host, though.

@The_Quiet_One I transferred all of my domains to Google Domains last year. It was straight forward and easy to do. It does what I need and the price is right, plus I don't have to track yet another login so that's a plus.

I moved mine from Yahoo to GreenGeeks a while back. Very easy. GG provided some easy to follow tips to get things done. (Also, very responsive!)

What are prices like? Currently paying $17.99 for mine, albeit with a company with which I have about fifteen years of experience (ouch) and whose customer service I've always liked.
Went to domains.google.com but as is becoming the norm with Google services, I have to log in even to see the most basic information (wtf?!) and my Google password is totally randomized; not going to look it up at work.

@heterodox cheapest are $11 (
.co.in
)..com
,.net
and.org
are all $12. The weirdo stuff can go way up..movie
is $320.

I am with NameCheap. They offer .com for $8.88 US right now, including WhoisGuard privacy protection FREE for life time.
-
@TimeBandit Renewal price is evidently $13 with Namecheap... but still, not bad.
-
Steer clear of Ionos (Was 1&1 AKA 1and1.)
They decided to prematurely cancel one of my domains when it was attached to a server hosting package I cancelled.
It's irrelevant that I was in the process of moving it to my other provider holding my other domains, Pickaweb, of whom I have a neutral opinion and would neither recommend, nor recommend avoiding.

We have a parked domain (parked in the sense that we don't use it). $15 USD with taxes.
