Probably, yes.

Yeah, probably. It's a third world nation after all.

Alligators. Note, an alligator in water is often referred to by its deadlier name, gator. As it is on land.

This isn't Canada, we have ready access to liquid water.
-
-
@boomzilla tbf, he does look thickheaded, drunk, and poorly-endowed.
-
@boomzilla I admire him that he was able to convincingly fake an Irish accent. I bet he couldn't have fooled an actual Mic, though.

Pikachu yawned.

@boomzilla I misread that headline the first time as the cop hit the man.

@ObjectMike this happened too, probably.

That's a generous margin of doubt.

Combining hippies and alligators can be dangerous.

@dcon So your dog can fence, but not wink? He must be a savant.

Of course he is! He's an Australian Shepherd!
-
@dcon But how likely are you to ever need shepherding a flock of Australians?
-
@Zecc From time to time. Florida Man goes to Australia:

@boomzilla How to get on a no-fly list without even getting on a plane.
I have to wonder, though, how they calculated $10k in damage from throwing one monitor.
-
@HardwareGeek
I guess it depends on where it landed and what loss of productivity it caused from disrupting the service.

It's hard to get out-dated equipment. (Since when does an industry like that allow you to use off-the-shelve stuff?)

The last time I had to hang around an airport long enough to get a good look at one of their screens when nobody was using it, it was displaying the XP logo.

Before moving on, some felt compelled to briefly discuss what they had just witnessed.
One asked, "City manager, are there districts that have a dungeon?"
"Not that I know of," he replied, laughing.
Someone hasn't been doing their job and is up for a paddlin'

This Hellraiser remake looks really weak.
It was never really supposed to be about the Cenobites. We humans are the real monsters.

Seems like we missed this in July, but it's a good story:

Last time I was sitting around at the international departure gate I was able to get a look behind the gate desk. There was a dot-matrix printer down there. Loaded with greenbar paper no less. I didn't know you could still get that.

@Watson Heard them going several times before boarding. I must admit that I did initially think "but of course, in our shithole", but it makes perfect sense.

but it makes perfect sense.
As I figured: if you're logging something and you want that log to be real-time, non-volatile, and human-readable, then it's a sensible solution.

Only if you need it to be readable by the elderly. If that is not a consideration, then a receipt printer is much cheaper.
-
@acrow Receipt printer won't do if you need to print 50 pages, and then read them too.
… my guess is they prefer the continuous paper so the pages of the dispatch documentation won't get mixed up.
