fucking read it before voting on it
What do these people actually do if they're not working on law stuff like they're supposed to be?
Wait, you're asking that now? Where were you when your politicians passed a bill that was literally illegible on the margins?
I mean, sure, but at least some of the politicians were trying to read it.

With net neutrality gone in the US and this copyright reform in the EU it seems like it is only a matter of time before only megacorporations have a website and you will only be able to visit websites that your ISP allows. In other words, turning the Web into cable TV 2.0.
Quite frankly we are lucky to be alive. I barely survived the fall of net neutrality. The family and I had to bunker down until the worst of the roaming swarms of reapers had passed.
I've posted in the funny stuff thread like 3 times since the vote, and the meme police hasn't locked me up yet.
Maybe we, too, will survive. It's a US based server.

Damn it, while the original proposal still had a few useful exemptions those got nuked as well:
The new rules not to deal with the filtering bullshit:
Any website
- Available to the public for less than 3 years
- and with an annual turnover below €10 million
- and with fewer than 5 million unique monthly visitors

Good lord.
Have fun getting blocked from most of the internet, guys.Eeeh, most of the internet is shit anyway.
Yes... we appreciate the EU doing its part to make the internet a little bit better.

Posted in other news today first, but obviously this belongs here
Fuck me sideways with a chainsaw.
How about you fucking read it before voting on it.And don't tell me it's too long and/or complicated or some bullshit excuse like that. First off, it's your fucking job to do this. Second, if it's too long to read before voting on it, then it's too long to be let loose on the public.
Fucking politicians.

Goodbye permalinks. Welcome changing domains every 3 years.

mydomain2019.com
mydomain2020.com
mydomain2021.comThis could work...

@dcon While inventive, I'm sure France will still try to nail you to a fencepost, stating it is the same legal entity or the same owner or some other bullshit.

Wait, you’re replying to a post which suggests that the same legal entity changes domain names every year to avoid the regulations? How then would that quite obvious ruling be bullshit?
You can disagree with the regulations, there’s enough reasons to in this case. But courts applying the law and not letting you play stupid tricks is not bullshit. Relevant xkcd://1494.

General! That's why I couldn't find this topic!

@Gąska
It's sad to see that it doesn't belong in Funny Stuff.

This is no laughing matter, or at least not one for rick-rolling.
Though this comment got a chuckle out of me:
Never gonna give EU up...
