@HardwareGeek wow, he gets everywhere

@Zerosquare would be better if they hadn't been cooked to damn death in heavy sauce. The bacon was a good idea but you really don't want to increase the moisture content in those things.
@boomzilla, watch your fucking language. We all know what a capitol is, yes, very cute.

@Gribnit that's saucist.

I wouldn't say funnier but it definitely has more shine to it

It looks like he is a snake (or other reptile) breeder and it is feeding time.
That's how we feed our snake, but since we only have one, there is only one in the pot. And yes, that pot is not used for anything else.

Not the other way round? A Polish search for some thing sounds funny to Czechs?
"Szukam ..." Pieprz!

You feed your snake Polish tea bags?

- The bacon rules are legally required to contain multiple triggers for @HardwareGeek.

@Benjamin-Hall
2. I frequently find a good example food to use for "good on its own but not good with other foods" is grapes.
-
@ObjectMike I wouldn't want to put bacon with a fancy soufflé.

@Benjamin-Hall said in The Cooking Thread:
So, under rule 1, I am not allowed to have the last piece of bacon with breakfast even if I'm planning to go out to buy more immediately afterwards?
And how does rule 11 work if we over-indulged on Saturday, we're nearly out, and the shops are closed till Monday?

Best pre-cooking preparation technique for grapes: conversion to wine.
-
-
@boomzilla Also, one of the best during-cooking techniques for those grapes is lubrication of the cook.

Deglazing is not really lubricating.

I've never seen a cook that needed deglazing.

@dkf ahhhhhhhh, gotcha. I missed the obvious joke. My German side must be dominating today.

I think that that's a bacon-wrapped grilled-cheese sandwich. Not my picture--the cheese would be lethal to me.
-
@Benjamin-Hall stuff like that looks really good but bacon takes forever to cook compared to a grilled cheese.

Yeah. It's how I feel about most bacon-wrapped things. It's hard to do right because you have to balance the cooking times (including the insulation factor of the bacon, etc).

They misspelled "shark coochie".

You might be able to pull it off if you cooked the bacon until it was soft-cooked and just slightly browned, assembled it, then finished cooking. But it would be a hassle and I don't know if it would be worth it compared to just cooking it with the bacon inside of it.
It's like bacon wrapped filet mignon. Sure, it sounds impressive but it's nearly impossible to do without overcooking the filet or ending up with inedible bacon.

@boomzilla Of course it's ruined, they forgot the rice wine vinegar!

@Benjamin-Hall I wish I could; unfortunately, my body won't let me any more.

@Benjamin-Hall today after we looked at a house we stopped for lunch at this old school diner place that's been around since the 50's. The food was really good and one of the items on the menu was a breaded tenderloin covered in sausage gravy, eggs, hash browns and crumbled bacon.
It was tempting but at my age eating stuff like that only leads to naptime and if I ate stuff like that often enough the nap would be permanent.

If I could take out a second mortgage to buy some tenderloin I might try to make that.

You could maybe get hold of a nice chopped steak with just a reverse mortgage.

Ah, but this is overreverence. You will need to consume a chilied chocolate soufflę in a bacon cup, or life another lifetime.

Sounds yummy.
The egg is at least healthier than the syrup I would normally put on a pancake. Bacon for butter, toss up.

Spoiler: not nice story
It once happened that a butcher's wife was pregnant, and had a home birth. In those days, the husband couldn't really take any time off and his shop was next door to the home, so he was at work until the last moment. When his wife gave birth, he was with her and so happy and all that he couldn't let go of her. So when the midwife asked if there was a scale to weigh the baby, he just called his apprentice and told him to go and do it.
A few minutes later the apprentice yells through the door "1.5 kg!" The midwife is puzzled, this seems tiny for the baby she saw. "Are you sure it's right?"
"Of course I am. All gutted and bones removed, that's a 1.5 kg roast."
