World of VNC
-
This dude scanned the Internetz for VNC servers with no authentication, took a screenshot of every one, and now you can browse the screenshots!
I like this one:
https://worldofvnc.net/browse.php?id=2707
Some kind of water reclamation control interface, written in the World's Ugliest GUI Toolkit apparently.
-
@blakeyrat that interface looks oddly familiar....
-
@Tsaukpaetra It's Unix. I know this.
Someone should be sure and drop me a message stating how awful Microsoft's design of RDP is, that it requires auth and encryption by default.
-
@blakeyrat Oh shaz, update your Ubuntus:
https://worldofvnc.net/browse.php?id=224
You wouldn't want your computer to be gasp insecure!!!
The Internetz might find out you are pirating... American Dad? Really? And That's What I Call Music 93? Ugh. Davem1989 has terrible tastes.
-
I distinctly remember a DEFCON talk where that water reclamation control interface was one of the slides in the presentation. The guy mentioned that everyone who visits that page gets called a few weeks later by a guy asking if you changed anything...
I can't find the talk now but basically it was about all the things which are accessible on the internet and shouldn't be...

The Internetz might find out you are
some random seed host for torrents? I have to believe that those aren't being downloaded for personal reasons...
-
@blakeyrat Every single South Korean one has a launcher for a shitty free-to-play MMO open.
Seriously.
TIL some stereotypes are true.
-
@blakeyrat Who the hell still pirates stuff OVER FTP? Man, I'm surprised he updated anything since 1998.
Anyway, I am now tempted to set up a machine, expose VNC and have it loop a video of someone waving over-enthusiasticly.

Why would you leave your phone number? Wha...?
-

That's the thing: nobody left their phone number. Just their IP address.

If I were less lazy, I was thinking about implementing enough of the VNC protocol to serve up a "screen" that was like 50,000,000,000 pixels tall.
-

Doesn't look that different from any other process control GUI that I've seen, really.

oooOOOoooOOooooOOOo
And on the handle of the car door... A HOOK HAND!
-
@blakeyrat And you know what "Mom Pov - Kassie HD 720p" almost definitely is...
-

IIRC that wasn't actually true until Win 7 or 8. I think there are a few metasploit modules that specifically work on Windows 7, because my testing VM of 7 Ultimate got pwned pretty quickly when I opened just the 3389 port to the internet...
-

you mean they are able to track all visitors, but they can't be arsed to put a damn password on the thing?
-
@blakeyrat I'm pretty sure you can serve a headless X session over VNC. Meaning, you could probably set it to have whatever resolution you want, not like it will ask the non-existant display if it can handle it. In other words, no need to reimplement anything, any random Linux VM should do.
-
@fbmac That was the conclusion I remember. Sounds exactly like a government project to me...
-
@blakeyrat Here's another important looking thingy:
And just as gaudy and hideous.
-
-
This appears to be a digital version of a fire evacuation poster, complete with ads! WTF Korea. Even your FIRE EVACUATION POSTERS show video games.
Also that would be a shitty place to work. You can't even move your elbows those desks are so close together. The non-handicapped bathroom stall is like 50% larger than your workspace.

Good thing this class schedule is for physics and not, for example, "Computer Security":
-
GamesLive.FR looks like some scam operation for stealing ad revenue from Twitch? Not sure. Definitely something fishy going on with it.
-
Fullsize at the link: https://worldofvnc.net/browse.php?id=126
-
Compressor shutdown...
-
-
@Tsaukpaetra I just found another security camera grid: https://worldofvnc.net/browse.php?id=1598
Not as good as the shampoo (?) factory one though.
-
Is that Windows Mobile?!
-
@loopback0 said in World of VNC:
Windows Mobile?!
Symbian? Doesn't look like Windows CE all that much...
-
@blakeyrat There's so many of these:
They HAVE to be a virus/botnet using people's bandwidth to scam Twitch.TV, but why does it also set up a VNC? So the people "hiring their services" can verify the watchers? Huh.
-
@Tsaukpaetra The icons on the top bar look like Windows Mobile 6.
-
@blakeyrat said in World of VNC:

Yeah, I've seen a few of those...
edit: two in a row!
-
Someone seems to be browsing news about porn rather than porn.
-
"Protected" by Kapersky
-
Unreal...
For those who are hard-of-French, "Arret" means stop. I wonder what happens when you arret le pompe?
Fucking dullards...
-
No idea who Danfoss are (nor do I care) but I've seen a few of these from different countries...
-
Photocopier VNC on the Internet

God, I'd forgotten that about them. Yes, they do put game ads all over the place (or did when I visited, which was like 10 years ago) a bit like how you get ads for TV and music all over the place in the West. But putting them on a safety poster? That's… special. Heck, having a part of your evacuation planning critically dependent on keeping power is also special.
Korea. Because somewhere has to show that Japan isn't the weirdest place on Earth.

@fbmac said in World of VNC:

Too much paperwork and red tape involved.

Honeypot, maybe?

"Effluent dosing setup screen"!!!!

"Effluent dosing setup screen"!!!!
How else would you control a sewage plant?
-
@blakeyrat nothing says "need for speed" as a fire in the building
-
@skotl Do at low alarm. In the year 2000.
-
prank idea: make a screen that could be mistaken with a missile launching control panel, and put it in a VM running unsecured vnc.
another one, something with UFOs
-

And if someone clicks LAUNCH, it could sent a disk-formatting virus back. Or just a screen melting MUHAHA
-
@dcon And then it yanks down their pants in science class!!!
