@DogsB So ... what name/string of symbols should I be looking for if I want a device or cable that supports this?

USB C 3.2 gen 2.5a (compatible); Thunderbolt (like Display Port 2); FireWire (Windows); Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/91.0.4472.77 Safari/537.36 Edg/91.0.864.37
should probably work, but might need some polyfills.

@DogsB The actual bigger problem: How are they preventing arcs upon unplugging? Because you'll definitely get arcing at 48 Volts.
-
@Rhywden don’t USB cables already have shorter data pins than power pins for that reason?
-
@topspin Arc pitting sucks. I did not expect USB to be another place to look for it. Bleh.

Man's plan for a DIY engagement ring is coming together:
Christian Liden, 26, of Poulsbo, Wash., said he has been on a longtime quest to find raw materials to make his own engagement ring, and he came to Crater of Diamonds after five years of panning for enough gold in Washington to make the band.

TIL Belgium has a "beer spa", because of course they would have one. It hit the news when somebody forced their way inside:
The beer spa gives enthusiasts the opportunity to bathe in beer, a unique experience.
Seems the perpetrator just wanted valuables:
[...] there wasn’t much to lay your hands on. They stole a phone, but did cause a lot of damage to the front door. Apart from that, there wasn’t much damage.”

They don't have one. They have many. So does Germany, Austria, Czechia and maybe a couple other places.

@dcon A high-steaks target. Must have been Russian vegans who had a beef with them. They'll have to meat in the middle.

Where?
Asking for a friend.
-
@topspin Hm, if I use that exact term, “beer spa”, on maps, I find some in Belgium, quite many in Czechia, but none in Germany and Austria. But I am pretty confident I've seen some resorts in Austria advertise that kind of service, so I still think it exists there too, just under different name.

@boomzilla hilarious, but sounds like an honest mistake. You don't type in your screen name every time and probably don't remember you typed in some dumb shit for meeting with pals when you have to enter a court zoom meeting.
Except it confirms your name every meeting you join? At least, on mine it does. Rather annoying but I guess there might be some way to skip it...

The capsule exploded on re-entry, after spending two full days in orbit. They forgot to pack the space piss bottles; fortunately the explosion and disintegration of the capsule has spared the ground crew from having to clean up the aftermath.

I have to admit I admire the grift. Mayweather hasn't attached his name to anything that wouldn't make him millions for about a decade. Logan Paul is no style, sucks substance out of the universe but has a great nose for an easy payday. I don't know what people were expecting.

What the Paul brothers have done is reveal an uncomfortable truth about boxing: that there is virtually no barrier to entry to the sport. They’ve demonstrated that much of boxing’s matchmaking is the art of smoke and mirrors, and have exploited that to create big events out of performances that have nothing to do with the actual competition of boxing.
I mean...yeah, the barrier to entry is low but they proved nothing about actual professional boxing. I wonder who paid to watch the fight. Was it regular boxing fans? For my part, I couldn't have been less interested.
