Possibly the greatest thread I've ever read.
I once helped out my a female friend's family by taking care of their
cat for a week. Every day for a week, I would go over there and snoop
around their house. I found my friend's diary, and proceeded to read the
entire thing. I used this information to get her to like me, and she is
currently my wife.

As one person asked, is it insulting to trans men because it's NOT insulting them(, via excluding them)?

Possibly the greatest thread I've ever read.
I've been lost in there for days now. I can't stop reading...

trans men
Is the word that comes after trans the input or the output?
I don't think it matters either way because my sister, my mom, and I all had hoppel poppel for lunch today.
-
I don't use reddit... I can only view the top 200 / top 500 posts. Is there any way to read the thread in it's entirety?
-
-
Thanks. I assumed I had to click something around the title/OP, but the one I needed was at the very bottom.

You can also add
depth=1
to the URL if you only care about the top posts.

The output. i.e. what they'd like to be known as now.

“Economically, results indicate that the entrance of Uber X results in a 3.6%-5.6% decrease in the rate of motor vehicle homicides per quarter in the state of California. With more than 13k deaths occurring nationally each year due to alcohol related car crashes at a cost of 37 billion dollars, results indicate that a complete implementation of Uber X would create a public welfare net of over 1.3 billion to American taxpayers and save roughly 500 lives annually,” wrote the team.

Well who'd have thought that having a proper taxi service that doesn't gouge you and which is available late evening helps discourage drink driving…

Now, if anyone knows how to stop a reddit page from collapsing on a reload so I dont have to click load more comments (36419 replies) roughly 38 times to get back to where I was, that'd be nice to know...

Oh, the microaggressions! I'd say "Oh, the humanity" but that seems like unfair speciesism.
-
Those sons-of-bitches, cutting back on the cities' budgets!

so I dont have to click load more comments
I always middle-click or right-click, open in new tab, links like that, so I never figured out if there's a way. Hopefully what I suggested is a decent workaround, if I wasn't with an actual solution.

The context (that is, knowing what a sausage fest is) should've been enough to figure it out: trans men are men who are, uh, sans sausage.
-
I thought part of becoming a transient man was that a plastic surgeon turned your innie into an outie.
-
trans men are men who are, uh, sans sausage.
Technically both trans men and trans women are sans sausage, the latter because it was chopped off, the former because it wasn't there to begin with.
-

While that's true, the entire concept of a sausage fest would generally preclude women, cis or trans.
-
transient man
The abbreviation is for the word "transsexual", not "transient".
Transient is what the person typically is between being their birth-sex and after the last operation.
If there is a last in some cases.
-
I thought part of becoming a transient man was that a plastic surgeon turned your innie into an outie.
There's a joke involving one or more of the words "reversible" and "detachable" and your incorrect expansion of trans that I'm not going to make the effort to develop.
-
No, trans are people made of nitrogen/ammonia/nitrates.
-
I thought part of becoming a transient man was that a plastic surgeon turned your innie into an outie.
I though part of becoming a transient man was living under a viaduct and filling a shopping cart with empty soda cans.

Ever wondered what's the best thread on reddit of all time?
###Throwaway time! What's your secret that could literally ruin your life if it came out?
This one. I've been binge reading for hours and have barely even scratched the surface.
Still reading this.
I used Comic Sans MS as the font for a website in 2010.

My recent favourite:
Well, after monitoring this thread for five months, probably safe to post. Not looking for a bucket of karma or attention, but hopefully this will give me some form of catharsis. I’m nineteen now, but was fourteen at the beginning of the story (I’ve always been really tall, and I look older and am quite mature and intelligent). I know I'll eventually be caught, but until then...
{BTW sorry for incoherency, if anybody really cares then reply or PM me with any questions and I'll answer them}
I’ve been compulsively lying for a long, long time, but about three years ago it started going up a level. I was getting lunch and some girl starting flirting with me, and she asked me my name. Without thinking I made up a character named Thomas, and just ran with it. I ended up dating this twenty one year old girl for three months, while she thought I was a twenty year old student named Thomas Archer. I made up a huge back story for this character; I went out to meet her family, got in good with her college friends. The whole shebang.
So I’ve been doing this sort of thing ever since; I make up elaborate characters, and I run with them. Over the past five years I must have had at least a hundred and fifty characters (probably more). I sat through college lectures with girlfriends/boyfriends (I’m a guy by the way, bisexual), gone to office parties, been offered a couple jobs, I went on holiday for a weekend once with an older woman (she was a fairly prominent 38 year old journalist), I’ve run drugs, hung out with gangs (not the shitty hoodrat kind either, some were pretty classy- well, as classy as you could expect). I’ve faked my way through countless relationships and one night stands. I have a variety of characters; neurotic, charming, nerdy, smart, dumb, athletic, classy, suave, James Bond, Marlon Brando, nervous, depressed, quiet, shy. I’ve never been caught.
Some of my more memorable characters who I’ve used for a while are:
John Marx- a Russian school teacher (I was seventeen). I was in the office to ask where my next class was, secretary mistakes me for the gym substitute, nobody bothered checking it out and the guy never came in. I rolled with it, taught for the day, went home with one of the teachers there (hot blonde), played this character for a week then abandoned it for safety.
Arthur Mallone- a nineteen year old (started at fifteen) guy I made when I was away in Greece with family for a month. I hooked up and went out all the time, and decided to just run with him.
Ash Williams- a twenty two year old (sixteen at creation) aspiring writer (this is the character I hooked up with the journalist).
Donald Lennon- a musician (bull shitted my way through this, no clue about music), eighteen years old, punk rocker.
Like I said, countless characters, all very elaborate. I’ve been asked about marriage, some crazy girl tried to trick me into having kids with her. It’s crazy. I’m still doing, with no real plans to stop. I have about fourteen different characters (excluding the one-night characters I make up) going at the moment. I have three girlfriends and a boyfriend. Nobody has ever found me out. I still act as myself, and I’m really popular because of how confident I am (gained through this). I don’t really know why I do it, I’m happy at home, never been abused, nothing like that. I feel like this would destroy me if it were found out, nobody would trust me. I think that eventually I’ll have to many characters going, and will end up “dying” here in my home country, as far as my family/friends will know. I’ll move to America, maybe buy a farm (I’ve actually gotten a fair bit of money through jobs I’ve done as characters), and stay in relative seclusion for the remainder of my years.
TL;DR I’M A REAL LIFE VERSION OF ROGER THE ALIEN/FRANK ABAGNALE, JR., NEVER BEEN CAUGHT
Small chance any of this is true, but would make an interesting movie.

The context (that is, knowing what a sausage fest is) should've been enough to figure it out: trans men are men who are, uh, sans sausage.
Is that anything like turkey sausage?
-
No, trans are people made of nitrogen/ammonia/nitrates.
And they deliver pizza!
-
The abbreviation is for the word "transsexual", not "transient".
Transgender is the currently acceptable word.
Technically both trans men and trans women are sans sausage, the latter because it was chopped off, the former because it wasn't there to begin with.
Not all trans people have bottom surgery. A lot stop at hormones. Generally it's about how much they need to do to stop their body feeling wrong, and this doesn't have to include messing about with genitals

Ah, indeed. Think, if you will, of
a porn movie starring just - say - Brittany CoxXx and Buck Angel...
.
For those of a sensitive disposition, I'd advise not searching for either of those two actors.

And, like, nobody goes into a Python IRC channel asking for help with printing a string only to receive a massive line-by-line education about monad transformers. They just say "type print".

My most favorite:
I once took a shit In the bathtub and then realising what a horrible mistake I'd made, I flung poo Into a hole In the wall.
My parents renovated and patched up the hole. So now there Is a ~15 year old turd in between the bathroom and kitchen wall of my childhood home.
Not even using a throwaway because I have no shame.

Oh yes this is much better.

Finally given up on that Reddit thread, the molestation stories were getting a bit samey. I should've known nothing was going to beat the post about the secret bunker.

I did a quick search for similar puns on "therapist" but couldn't find anything good.

I thought I'd seen something like this previously:

And then you find something like this:
Admiral, I too have the same type of secret. I did kill a couple of people over in afghanistan. But The first one is my secret. The day before it happened our Sgt was killed by a sniper, then the same day my bud I knew from boot camp lost both of his legs, it was a miracle he even lived. I was only in this specific town for 2 weeks by the time this had happened.(I dont want to give the name of the town because my kill was reported)
So the next day rolls around and we are doing a patrol. We go up above this flooded field and I see two guys going into a building with what looked like a mortar tube. I tell the cpl and he radios it in. Then He says we cant shoot unless we feel threatened. I just remember being so pissed off about that stupid fucking rule. In my head I said "fuck that, if i see something im getting some".
So about 30 mins go by and this guy walks out of the house. I look and I can see its a kid, maybe 12 years old. He turns the corner and I can see he has an AK on his side with the stock sawed off. I remember thinking "That little mother fuckers bringing that somewhere". He was already lined up so I just pulled the trigger. Shot him in the side of the head.
After the cpl starts yelling at me asking me why the fuck I opened up. And I said he raised his rifle at us. None of them questioned me after that. But since he was so young the kill did get reported. Thats the only one that still bothers me.
EDIT: By "reported" I mean I was served shit papers for it. It was only after I got cycled back to the real world that i realized what I had done. The whole time i was over there I convinced myself that I was justified in killing him.

####I’m in highschool and money was stolen from my bank account. I need help NOW
Kid gives a bunch of people blank checks as "souvenirs". Level of stupidity off the charts.
-
Even better, despite everyone in the original thread telling him "go and let your parents know about it NOW, before they get a call from the bank"... he didn't.
Here's the update, in which you can see his punishment:They stopped all the checks and took my checkbook away. I have no idea if they got the money back from my friends, my dad left for work for a week and he’s not talking to me. I’m only getting $300 for the trip this time instead of $1000, but I guess it makes sense that im punished somehow.
Cue disbelief from the peanut gallery at the idea that being given another $300 is a punishment.
-
A check is a contract, not a toy.
Technically it's not a contract, it's a negotiable instrument.
Wow, is there any place free of pedantic dickweeds? Jesus.
