Weird I saw the same thing compiling NAudio for win 8.1--setting an odd number and reading it back returned even.

Rounding errors? They are always fun, like setting padding / margins / offset in percentages in CSS and having that annoying 1px white line in your dark design; but only in some browsers!

osascript -e "set volume output volume 75"
osascript -e "output volume of (get volume settings)" # => 76
So? It probably doesn't have the resolution to store 100 distinct values, so it just brings it up or down to the closest one it can use. Why, do you use your volume settings as temporary variable storage?

width: calc(10% - 1px)

Which then raises the question of why allow setting it between 0 and 100 in the first place?

I'm ashamed of what I've just made http://t.co/ExWGut98ua
Google suggests this is someone called kappa? Which ruins my theory that the humour is in him having Grey as a surname, so I'm lost
this will never not be funny http://t.co/orFvBytqDl
I beg to differ

There's a meme in Twitch chat that Kappa = Grey Face (no space).
Like many things in Twitch chat, it's very silly.
-

Probably because the actual volume range depends on the sound card.

I first heard of Twitch when Reddit /r/gaming was full of Twitch Plays Pokemon bullshit and I was sick of not having the faintest idea what any of the jokes were about. If possible, I now have even less interest in it

Twitch
Is this the Twitch.tv stuff that people around here have talked about? Where they show other people the games they play or something?
There's a meme in Twitch chat that Kappa = Grey Face (no space).
This is one of those explanations that just raises more questions.

Twitch chat is really only worthwhile on smaller channels where the streamer can read and respond to the chat. After some critical mass of viewers, the signal:noise ratio gets completely flattened and the chat turns into this:

Yep. Though in my experience, it isn't so much watching streams as watching Twitch complete fail to smoothly handle streaming video.

+something, because a like is not enough
-
This is one of those explanations that just raises more questions.
It's a fractal of inanity; the more in-depth you go, the more questions it raises about things that don't matter to anyone, even those who participate in it.

If you type
Kappa
in chat, it turns into this:Prior to very recently, there was no way of finding out from inside the chat what text an emote corresponded to. So, when someone asks "how du i mak the grey face" the response is:
= Grey Face (no space)
= Sad Boy (no space)
-
What is "Kappa"? Why is there no space in "Grey Face"? (There is! THERE IS A SPACE THERE!!) How did I get my underwear off under my trousers?! Where is my medication?!!
-
This is one of these topics which is impenetrable to anyone over the age of 30, isn't it?
-

I think the idea is like breaking a link by putting www . google . com (no spaces). If they typed "GreyFace", it'd make an emoji instead of the word.
-

You youngsters don't know what impenetrable means.
-
Indubitably!

This is one of these topics which is impenetrable to anyone over the age of 30, isn't it?
Thank god.
-
If they typed "GreyFace", it'd make an emoji instead of the word.
Yes - if that was the actual emote. They're lying. So the noob types
GreyFace
and then goes "hey, it didn't work" while the troll laughs.
-
-
They fixed the trolling bit by having the emoticons (note: not emoji - there is no DendiFace emoji in the Unicode spec) have title text (and then having that title text displayed using JavaScript to make it more obvious).

I love it how we have so many "minority days".
Oh, no, wait, that's 51% of the human population.
And no, those other 49% of assholes don't get a right to a "day" either in my book.

How long before we have to have a Futurama-style 'Parade Day'?

I just... WAT?

The twitch chat was going so fast I'm pretty sure it came close to folding the universe in half.

why stop at just one day?
have it be a never ending parade that slowly makes its way around the entire planet one country at a time. that way there literally is always a parade!
-
I love it how we have so many "minority days".
This sort of thing reminds of the classic situation where kids complain (on Mother's or Father's Day) that there's no Kids Day. And of course the retort is, "Every day is kids day. Now get off the fucking lawn."
-
-
I've never heard of anyone celebrating any of those in the US.

It's like Snowpiercer! But without the train! Or the chopped-off limbs! Or the kidnapped children! Or the strange and ineffective social commentary on class!

One time I was watching the Republican Response to the State of the Union.
It started 40 minutes late, but they managed to get the chat working on time, so it was 45 minutes of pure twitch spam.

Alas neither party position supported Lojban or Dwarf Fortress. Might as well vote Green... sigh.

Green, the party that calls nuclear energy "dangerous to the environment"?

Besides, I don't know if they noticed... but it's mostly blue!
