Is there such a thing as a non-ASCII uppercase character?
Ruby says: No!
Fortunately, there are also no non-ASCII lowercase characters either. It's all a figment of your imagination.

Hmm...
-
I used those in my long name for a while.
-
I remember posting a comment here composed almost entirely of them. It took bloody ages, and the net result was indistinguishable from a normal post. It was a bit pointless, really.
-
You know how programming works, right?
Just build your own fullwidthizer.
-
-
You can probably write one in under 21 minutes. Unless you use one of those weird languages @ben_lubar loves.
-
Eh... 'just' is a dangerous word...
Of course, you have to take into account rework for when you do it manually and fuck something up.
-
Just build your own fullwidthizer.
It's a pre-solved computer problem.
-
-
I am a fullwidth character enthusiast.
-
-
Didn't know that existed.
"normal ASCII pendants"

Guys look at the cool word I made that is in no way related to experts-exchange!

I… might have used it again…

I don't know if I should be happy or angry that the title of this thread is still the same. IIRC someone changed it after I was surprised that browsers don't, in fact, freak out when you place an
<abbr>
inside an<a>
.

based on the description it appears to be yaoi...
/me closes that tab
You prefer yuri. Noted.

Yes. i do. >
well not always....
maybe about 50% of the time....
OK, what i really object to is bad Yaoi....

I bet they'll add spiral text or something in the next version.
First read that as fa-spin text and it didn't not make sense.
-
That's what's going to be removed (again) next update.
-
I bet Discourse would have a lot less bugs if it was written in a saner language.

Using saner development practices would make a bigger difference.

TIL if you tell Chrome to "start in Windows 8 mode" it turns into a pseudo chrome-OS
But it doesn't seem to work very well. For some reason it doesn't seem to respond to the scrollwheel. Not that I really use Chrome anyway.
-
TIL I can set an alarm on my phone to 1h01 on a night where there is no such thing (due to DST) and it will do the right thing; ie, go off at 2h01.
I should test what happens when there's two 1h01 on a single night, but I can't be bothered to fake the date. I'm guessing it only goes off the first time around.

TIL about one of the most pointless flamewars in the history of humankind: http://tiki.lojban.org/tiki/'Sixteen+Rules'+issue
-
Is that page written in English? I think it's trying to say something about someone lying about the number of rules, but apart from that I can't tell what it says.
-
It's a page on the Lojban wiki, what did you expect? ;)
-
Yeah, the wiki's pretty low quality and hasn't been updated since the Geocities era. If you want to learn lojban, from an official source, your best bet is the reference grammar.
-
Bookmarked. Maybe, someday, I'll actually try and learn the language. To write a (bad) English → Lojban translator bot for WTDWTF. For science
Filed under: That's never gonna happen, but it sounds like fun
-
Maybe I should convert it into a sockmodule.

My first guess was a very badly drawn orange toaster.
-
-
What the hell, I'm going to custom emoji it anyway...
-
It's probably part of the Hagouts emoji set, given I'm on Chrome.
