The thread of movie titles and absence of badges. In previous episodes, it was signs you're getting older, chiropractic vs. medicine, atheism vs. Mormonism and religion vs. science with no existentialism nor philosophy thrown in

Well 'altitude' with synonyms including 'peak' and 'summit' is on the first page of thesaurus.com answer for eminence.
(Also for some reason I was under the impression 'sierra' meant desert, so I would never have got the correct word anyway, even if I'd heard of the film.)

Aaahhh...I hadn't put that together (which is why I wasn't confident). I went with just the valuable resources and mother to get there.

You're right. For some reason when I was writing that response to @boomzilla, I read that as "attitude".
Also for some reason I was under the impression 'sierra' meant desert
Maybe just because I grew up in California, but I've always associated "sierra" with mountains, even before I knew the actual meaning of the word. ("Saw," like "serrated," because the mountains have sharp peaks.)even if I'd heard of the film.
Shame on you. Get thee to Netflix at once!

Me, too.

Funnily enough my association is 'Sierra Nevada', which is a mountain range. But I somehow had the impression it was a desert... Nevada is a desert-y sort of a place, isn't it? I dunno. What I don't know about the US would fill several encyclopaedias.
I put it on my Lovefilm list just now.

Actually, the Sierra Nevada range is in California. Which has lots of desert. Nevada literally means "snowfall," though.

Amazon bought it but they still operate it attached to that name.

Middle C, hard of hearing
-
-
Middle C is also denoted C4; hard of hearing = deaf =? (especially if we can't hear so well) death - something like Explosive Death (which doesn't seem to be a film title). I don't know many films, someone help me out.
(tricky one, I hope)

Nevada is a desert-y sort of a place, isn't it?
The state of Nevada is, indeed, desert. However, it is a high desert — typical elevations 1000 - 2000m — corrugated with mountains. Thus the name, meaning snowy. It doesn't get a lot of snow; most of that which it would otherwise get falls on the Sierra Nevada mountains to the west, but it gets enough to be called Nevada.

My Little Chickadee
No, and no hint yet. Later, if nobody gets it.
Black Eve
No. This one's been out there long enough for a hint. Without color, not dark.

Chicken Little = Skyfall, right?

@Boomzilla: third, actually, if it's order asked.
Dang! I thought about saying (that I know of).
-
I was thinking too literally there
-
I was trying to think of a question for Skyfall for ages before and since that one was asked, and it still took me that long to connect it.

That was a good one.

Gray Lady Down
YesDidn't come up when I was looking with the UK spelling of grey
When I tried a title search of IMDB for "gray," it appeared to be returning everything with "ra" in the title. , IMDB? "Hellraiser, "Trainwreck" and "Graceland" are not "gray."
