Unless they're working night shifts
still not technically nocturnal as if you remove the need to work nights for money they'd quickly reset to a sleeping at night rhythm.
even self professed "night owls" don't stay up the whole night.

⸘ ‽ What on Earth replaces U+2734 EIGHT POINTED BLACK STAR with this weird orange symbol that is neither eight-pointed, nor black, and not even a star?
-
if i had to guess.... i'd say @Yamikuronue has a little fun with firebug or chrome debug tools to edit the markup before she took the screenshot....
either that or she has a rather odd font collection.
-
-
Is it just me, or does look like two trouts on a pole?
it does rather, not that you mention it.
they're probably supposed to be this sort of flag:
-
Why is it called "eight-pointed black star" and looks like orange square with broken white diagonal cross?
Probably because Emoji One wanted to prove that their emoticon set is the perfect fit for Discourse.
-

Nope, you give me way too much credit. It appears that way in Chrome for Windows 7, on both my machines. I did have to install Chromoji on both machines to get any emoji support whatsoever, so it's probably their fault.

ahem Well Thar's Yer Problem

Yep.. that's a right humdinger of a problem.... she's gonna have to come out.

Oh, come on, that post was just begging for one of these:

Fishing for koinobori

Yep! I learnt that by watching the first 6 seasons of Urusei Yatsura.

For me it sufficed to install the Symbola font from the aptly named ttf-ancient-fonts. But then I am using Chromium on Debian and it's bin already established that Chromium font composition works on Linux but has problems on Windows (while Firefox's font composition works on both).
Of course ✴ is not emoji and should be supported with more standard font.
-
A few observations on the emoji set, now I can see them all properly.
:relaxed:
- Based on the expression, I think this 'relaxed' person just had a 'happy ending'
- Doesn't look tired; looks like someone's shoving something long and hard up the poor guy's poo chute
:cop:
- Looks like he's from a 1970's detective show
:dash:
- Could also be:fart:
?
:triumph:
- Looks more like snorting with indignant fury and righteous anger
:dragon:
- Wrong colour; should be purple. With a blue vest and shorts. And blue boots and gloves, trimmed in yellow. And called Sash Lilac.I may add more later...
-
-
Got more:
:sleepy:
- That's not sleepy, that's crying a bit
:persevere:
- What, more sodomy?
- Don't cross-eyes normally mean dead?
:astonished:
- Ditto
:grimacing:
- Zippy!
- Zippy... climaxing?
:relieved:
- Happens a few moments after ?Also, why does face to the side, when all the other cat ones face out of the screen?
-
That does not look like interrobang either. Interrobang should have the ‘?’ and ‘!’ overlaid. Like ‘‽’.
Any better

Well, the two symbols are different shades of red, but I doubt that's the bug.Edit:
It lists in the autocomplete twice
No. That's deliberate - leaving them the same colour resulted in an amorphous blob.
Edit:
Have an internet.

+1
Because a like is not enough, and 129 is a non-visible character.

I find it hard not to see a cat throwing up
Also, am I missing something? headdesk doesn't come up in my auto complete suggestions and it's not emojified in the preview. Same with .
Hanzo edit: just the preview and autocomplete then. Nice Discourcistency

Not quite the whole thing, but a lot of them.

Quite possibly the whole site.
Once a rather fundamental problem has been fixed...
Ya know, if the "Linked from 'topic'" worked across discourse instances, that post would have quite a following...
And that's just in the past 24 hrs.

Once a rather fundamental problem has been fixed...
Just looking at your linked post, it reminds me that Rails's “Sorry…” notifications have made some of our
customerscollaborators absolutely splutter with fury. They didn't want sorry, they wanted it fixed (or something they could definitely report somewhere to get a fix to happen). They'd be better if they at least said something like “This issue has been automatically reported with tracking ID 1231507; contact the side administrators if you wish to find out more.” At least then it would feel like something was potentially going to happen about the failure, rather than an automatic shrug of the shoulders…

I did have to install Chromoji
So most of you have probably heard that Emojify got me XSS'd today >.>
So I've got nothing for emoji on the PC I'm currently on anymore.
Luckily, I'm now on Chrome 42, which has some emoji support!
Everything on http://classic.getemoji.com/ shows up:
but not on regular http://getemoji.com/:
Not a single one of the Unicode 7.0 Emoji Additions shows up either.
-
Maybe you should switch to Windows. Chrome 43-beta has quite a few you don't:
Aside: what idiot thought "man in business suit levitating" was something that needed an emoji for?

I thought you were shitting me there; no:

Fine, maybe it's being on the Chrome beta track, then. Oh, ugh, it wants to restart. I'm currently on Version 43.0.2357.45 beta-m.
-
I thought you were shitting me there
If I were doing that, there'd be a more appropriate emoji in use.
-

Mine looks the same as yours and IIRC I'm not on beta.
edit: Nope. Chrome 42.

I dunno, then. I guess I'll chalk it up to clean living.
