No. I posted it somewhere else and submitted the completed stub here and then deleted it.
As for the package, it is most likely on Mars. It will take some time for them to construct the apparatus required to fetch it and return it here.
-
I have one package that has not had the tracking info updated since Monday and still says it is in Florida. Every day that it is late, I contact Amazon and get another free month. I just hope it is not completely lost as it is an xmas gift for my son.
Every time, the person from Amazon with the name that you cannot pronounce unless you have spent time on the Indian subcontinent tells me that they can see from the tracking that it will be delivered tomorrow. I just wish they would quit lying to me about it because the package is most likely freaking lost.

Alternatively, you could use 'Roshan' which is an average 'cool guy' name over there. It has the added bonus of confusing dota players who wonder what a giant bug demon that used to be a purple stone golem has to do with anything.

Not sure if it's a FWP or a TWP but has anyone seen the basic HTML mode of Gmail?
I haven't until today, that I decided to give it a look and it's a big pile of shit. Not even in the ugliest start of the Internet did AOL Mail or Yahoo Mail looked so awful.
Then the controls. It's supposed to be light, not user unfriendly. Everyone else was doing quite well with webmail before AJAX was a thing.
Is like Google said about Gmail: fuck it!
P.S: I was going to put a screenshot, but the images doesn't do merit to this POS. You'll have to suffer it.

The big question is: does it InfiniScroll™?

Nice. I've got two shipments that are supposed to arrive tomorrow. Fingers crossed that they're late.
Two packages are going to arrive 5 days late. I just contacted Amazon, was very courteous to the person but expressed my displeasure in a nice way and now I am up to a full year of free Amazon Prime. Woohoo.

and this is why they raised the price of prime.... thanks.

Gmail
a big pile of shit
My coworkers think I'm crazy, but Gmail is so undiscoverable that I often have to ask them how to do things like basic formatting. More often than not, it mangles any FTP links I email to customers, and it randomly decides between Reply and Reply-All when I'm in an email conversation with a group.
My primary mail is Yahoo! (yes, yes, TRWTF and all that) but if I want to make something bold I click the Bold button and it just works. Gmail is more like clicking or hovering over unlabelled buttons with nonintuitive icons until I find it by accident.
Could be worse though. Our new parent company supposedly uses Lotus Notes. It hasn't been forced on us (yet).

You're welcome.
<maybe they should not make guarantees that they cannot live up to?>

You know Jeff, instead of blaming me...maybe you should blame the company that was unable to follow through with their promises of 2-day delivery? ;)

... truly the world is full of arseholes and those of us who refuse to misrepresent the truth (well.... within limits, i'm only pretending to be a fox for the lulz) get shafted.

pretending to be a fox for the lulz
...so you are an anonyfox? This explains so much...

no, you can probably work out exactly who i am from what i've posted here and on G+ if you wanted to. I don't misrepresent who i am, even if i don't hand out my mailing address. I've handed out the who information publically and let the communtiy react to it however they wanted to. so far the reaction has been fairly positive.
so, maybe annoyfox, but not anonyfox. ;-)

Whoosh?

Our customer services dept received an email of complaint today that contained the line
Expecting people to hang around all day for a delivery is an attitude that is back in the dark ages.
-
I fixed it for you.

As I sit here, waiting for the delivery of my new cooktop, I tend to agree with the sentiment. The way they stated the message is idiotic though. WTF was delivered in the dark ages? The plague?
-
ooh. i see the confusion.
did anonymous start spelling it lulz themselves or just pick it up somewhere else?
cause i was completely unaware that they used that spelling at all (i havent been to forchan (is that how it's spelled?) in like.... well ever really)
-

No clue. I would imagine they picked it up from 4Chan (that is how it is spelled, but I never expect you to spell anything correctly).
-
4chan is the origin of the internet. It is typically safe to assume any meme or strange spelling originated there. It usually doesn't hit third-tier (facebook) for a month or so.

i was aware of that (spelled 4chan wrong on purpose) but i can see where one would think that.

hmm.. well TIL.
sorry for the confusion, i pretty much ignore anonymous as a group because they appear to be a group of 12yo SJW scriptkiddies...

My friend in NZ liked to keep up with their raids on Scientology. They occasionally do things for very good causes.

To each their own. I rather like them, and a lot of what they do. As a person who believes in absolute freedom of speech, they are frequently aligned well with my ideals.
On occasion though, they make me:

You've got to read more about that time of history if you like that sort of stuff. The point is that the term "dark ages" is not totally correct and gives a bad impression of a time people lived quite well. The plague did hit hard, but mostly Europe. Specially in Muslim areas (countries?) It didn't so much and it was a prosperous time for several regions.
So they probably got two days or less of food delivery.
-

Total WAG here, but I would think that food deliveries in the dark ages were rare? My guess would be that people went and picked it up from a local shop keeper (city dwellers), or pulled it from their own food stores (agrarian people)?
-
The plague did hit hardly, but mostly Europe.
Hardly means barely. The above sentence says the opposite of what it is meant to say.
-
I liked it better when that was Fark. At least Fark has some class.

food deliveries
I believe rich people got food delivered from the butcher's and so forth to their door. Thinking castles and manors and so on.
-
Really? Can't you picture the fruits guy delivering some apples to some old lady at her home?
Hell, if you got enough money people brought the store to your place: perfumes, clothing, flowers.
Same day delivery wasn't invented by Amazon.

public List<EldritchHorror> Users { get; } = new List<EldritchHorror>();Plenty of class.

Same day delivery wasn't invented by Amazon.
Sears used to do same-day delivery. Two weeks ago I purchased a new cooktop from them and it is supposed to be delivered today. Cheeky bastards.

AFAIR IKEA has same delivery and assembly!

Hey, what language lets you start a class identifier with a number?
<will someone flag this?>

I was going for C#, but apparently it doesn't. I'm sure lisp does, but iunno CLOS.

But they don't have free takeaway, so I tend to avoid them.

Meh, a quick browse of craigslist can solve that. There are always scruffy looking guys on there with beat up pickups that have no exhaust that will come pick up anything metal for free. In my case it was nonpoint. I put the old cooktop in my recycling containter last week. Next round I will get the exhaust hood and other stuff.

You damned Europeans and your love for IKEA...
-
what? it gets the job done and is of no worse quality than the buildityourself kits you can get at Walmart. in fact it's often better quality!
/me wants a closer IKEA

I live in San Diego, the space taken up by a fridge is worth a yearly income in many other places.
