Where/how are you getting your numbers?
Well, the results you provided have an extra person (Macie doesn't actually have the badge), so I grabbed HardwareGeek's numbers:
rank | username | percent | count
------+-----------------+---------+-------
11 | HardwareGeek | 4.70 | 447447 / 30 = 14.9
-
aaaah.... @intercourse, Lysdexic jokes are always more fnu.
(yes i saw what you did)
-
Who? Me? I wasn't there, I didn't do it, she told me she was 18!
-
-
BTW, I was not going for a dyslexic joke, it was more of an S&M joke.
-
oh! you should have said. once i'm officially allowed back here i'll bring the handcuffs. ;-)
-
Dang, all that slacking I did and I still almost continued to beat @accalia.
-
it is still a close race my friend. you can win back the coveted badge if you want to.... :-D
-
LOL. It's a lot of "work".
-
exactly it is work. you code is just compiling is all.
-
You should know the correct discoterminology by now.
I can never remember the "Jeff-Correct" terminology, so I alternate just so that I can be wrong some of the time.
-

I wish. Today has been customers asking ill-informed questions.
Not necessarily bad per se, but they're meaningless, but they don't know that yet. There's nothing like having two different people in IT asking an overlapping set of questions.
"How does [the web product] get data from [the GUI app]?" Uh, via ODBC? Like Lord Byron, I am rightly unable to apprehend the kind of confusion that would lead to such a question. (I actually told him "ODBC" and he didn't clarify the question, so I guess it was a good enough answer.)
-
I actually told him "ODBC" and he didn't clarify the question, so I guess it was a good enough answer.
Or he did not understand the answer and did not want to seem stupid by asking a question like, "...and what is OBDC exactly?"
(Yes, I out of ordered the initialism on purpose)
-

"...and what is OBDC exactly?"
i have heard this question literally verbatim at least 5 times in the last 3 months.
... from the same person
.... who wants to be hired internally from Operations to our open DBA position.
... i pray she doesn't make the cut. Nice woman, really, but she doesn't know a database from a webbrowser.

He's their DBA, so I hope he knows what that is! (It's a fairly large company, I believe they have ~900 employees, so it's not likely he's "the guy who knows computers" so he got tasked with it.)
-
It is amazing how many people become what I call "DBA's by default" because they are the last one standing when the music shuts off.
-
"I see that you once worked with Access..."
-
While once trying to get an RFP from a business, their DBA said these exact words, "I am not really sure. I only got the DBA job because when Joe quit I was the one who had worked with him the most so I was given the job by default."
I shit you not. WTF does she do all day then? Just sit there and hope shit does not break?
-

Don't we all ... some of use try to prevent and circumvent some of that shit while we are sitting down but sometimes that seems just to be a secondary action.
-
+È„
BTW… That's how I've become the Apps Maintainer/DB Fixer/SQL/VBA/Java etc person here.
Except I still hear the music…
-
Update. Here being work not WTDWTF… Just in case anyone's as confusable as I am today.
-

That would be a big improvement over the pointless, constant tinkering a lot of DBAs do.
-
When you have a point, you have a point.
-
Wait a sec...5% posters unTIED?
The dyslexics thread is that way...
-
Yes, @RaceProUK changed it from unite to untie 4 Discodays ago, then @Intercourse changed it to untied 3 Discodays ago. I'm not sure when I noticed it, but it's been at least a couple of days, probably when the d was added, if not before. What took you so long?
-
Yeah, I noticed it a while ago...
-
What took you so long?
This thing called "work" has been sucking up my time lately. :-(
-
I hate when that happens.

Work is a barrier to reading TDWTF. I recommend using vacation days.

Work is a barrier to reading TDWTF. I recommend using vacation days.
That has worked well so far for me.
Unless my vacation is in Vegas. Then I ruin my attendance badge attempts.

Then I ruin my attendance badge attempts.
I gather that's what bots are for.
You could probably hire a Filipino or someone to do it cheaply for you, though.
-
I should have put "attempt" in "quotes."
-
-
well, you did quote me when you quoted me, so I could quote while I quote.
-
No, dawg.

Looking at it, you haven't been trying very hard...

Stable list of members for 2 weeks now.
-
not entirely unsurprising. what gets me is @frostcat hasn't taken that badge back from me yet.
-
I haven't felt up to the effort necessary. Last I knew you were about 30 posts up on me.
-
i think that's increased, but unless @pjh posts a more up to date report that's just a guess.
-
I could
-
abuse the process
-
until @pjh wields the magic UUID again. :-D
-
But of course that seems open to abuse on several levels, including finding a topic where you have significantly more recent posts than me and spamming it to get disqualified. But actually it seems like more work than I feel up to, so I'll probably just let you hold onto it for a while.
-
Yeah, it's almost like I was going to say something like that but you Hanzo'd me.
