The most amazing head...

We all know you're watching it for that geek chick. I mean, hell, there's no other reason, is there?
Technically I first saw Pauley Perrette in one of the episodes of CSI Vegas before I saw her in NCIS but that's not actually why I like the show - because her technobabble actually annoys me to a point. I like Gibbs kicking arse, DiNozzo being a wise-ass and McGee being, well, McGee.

Don't blame the hot chick, blame the shitty writers.
I don't watch the show, but the few scenes of utter technical stupidity I found are mildly amusing, like this all-over-the-world IP trace:

Filed under: the calls are coming from inside the house!, besides, if you pay attention to what she's talking about, you're watching it wrong

That is, at least, one of the better ones where it's an actual IP address. Half the time in these shows it's not even legal for an IP address with '456' as an octet or some such shit.
Don't even get me started on the use of 'hashtag' when they mean a hash symbol.

Someone in my team called it the 'hashtag symbol' the other week.

I believe you need a clue-by-four.
I don't even mind what people call it... be it hash, octothorpe, even pound sign is non-terrible. But hashtag or hashtag-symbol... WTF.

I believe you need a clue-by-four.
We need one of those quite a bit with the 'other' half of my team.
-
Don't most 'teams' need a clue-by-four or so to be applied liberally?
-
In our old team, only very rarely. Then there was a reshuffle and now half of our team are Business Analysts (and shit ones at that) and the need for such a device increased exponentially.

Ahhh, Nodwick, it's been too long.

I can't remember what programme it was, possibly Numb3rs, but I got quite annoyed with a supposed computer expert "explaining" what an IP Address is, then spending the rest of the episode calling them IPAs. I have literally never heard an IP address called that.

So... he referred to IP addresses as if they're beers?
