Are your speakers up to the awesomeness of Japanese drumming? (Mine aren't.)

Got dragged out to a Swans concert. In a small club. With really good sound system. Under the very stage.
It's fun when an hour in, you can no longer tell whether it's still music you hear, or your hearing deteriorating.

Since I was watching Office Space last night, I don't know if it gets any better than this.

That's Animusic's "Pipe Dream". Here's the original [?] in 480p: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyCIpKAIFyo
Here's "Pipe Dream 2 Bonus Feature" (different, if similar, song):

This is a bonus feature of Pipe Dream 2 that shows the computer graphics shading progression during the piece.

This just came on pandora on my Corrosion of Conformity station:
Parents may recognize it from Lazy Town. My wife and I sure did. In any case, the band is "Alestorm" and the blurb about them on Pandora reads:
Originally known as Battleheart, Alestorm, the purveyors of the relatively unexplored musical territory known as "pirate metal," formed in their original (pre-nautical) phase in 2004...

Had this on loop for a couple weeks now, and I think I've figured out the secret hidden meaning: if you look at the map of a city, you can see what looks to be a camouflage pattern in the way some of the streets and the parks are arranged.

Bonus points if someone can explain to me the meaning of the lyric
He reminds me of parsley when he's standing there alone
Because I ain't got a fucking clue

I like. I bothers me, though, that the variation in the length of the harp strings doesn't appear to be enough to produce the range of pitches in the song; all else being equal, the shortest string should be only about 1/4 the length of the longest one. All else don't have to be equal, of course; the thickness and tension of the strings also affect the pitch, and could account for the strings being higher-pitched than they look like they should be, and I know there aren't any real strings, only pixels, but it just doesn't look right.Edit: Forgot to navigate to the discussion topic before submitting. Sorry.

For the role players out there:
We may not know any girls
But we got graph paper guiding our way
We got confusion, delusion
And all of friday night to kill.

Also, breaking the rules since it's pretty rare for me to post in this topic--my favorite Christmas song.

Due to frustration with a coworker plus someone's excuse here this one popped in my head earlier:

I don't usually put much effort into finding songs that I hear in the background at random places, but this one happened to find me.
