This is not "funny stuff". This is extremely unfunny bickering about unimportant boring stuff.

I really don't think password reuse is all that big of a security problem, all things considered.
A few years ago I had to open a new checking account when a hacker found my bank password in an unrelated data breach posted to the dark web (with which he was able to get my sooper seekret account number and address).
I've used unique random passwords ever since.
Good thing my bank doesn't use passwords but a seven digit PIN then.
Another true story. I'd been racking up reward points on one credit card, and wanted to redeem them. The reward site required a 4 digit numeric PIN. I never set up a PIN for this. I tried my debit card PIN - no dice.
I set up a script to brute force the PIN. I was sure it was just going to lock me out or rate limit me... Nope! After exploring fully half of the possibilities (over 5000), I hit the right number and it let me in.
It was the last four digits of my SSN.

But on the other hand, I can recognize some people despite not having seen them for many years - a real life situation is not a (dead) photo, and there are so many different clues for identifying people that I can successfully use.

I believe there to be fewer than 67 unique photos of my physical face. I could probably comparison-identify myself out of lineup...

I got 68% (I think about the same). Some of which may be lucky guesses.
I would absolutely not recognize a person from a crime sketch or help create one.
I recognize my husband from a distance because of his walk. I always worry I'm going to run into someone or I'm seeing someone for the first time in a long time that I won't recognize them.
It has happened a couple times. I felt awful.
One time I got stopped by someone trying to get signatures because she walked toward me like she knew me and then I'm racking my brain where do I know her from? Ultimately I didn't.

@boomzilla and again, for no real benefit, you get a new problem: can't log into anything if you don't have access to your computer.
I also only remember a few key passwords and everything else is stored in keepass. But what would I be accessing without my computer?

No, I feel awful for consistently calling someone "Mrs. Baldwin" when their name was "Mrs. Jones". Like, without fail. Apparently the pattern is permanently stuck and I cannot replace or erase it.

The same thing you'd normally do but on someone else's computer. I've recently told a story in... status thread I think?... about my father's habit of keeping all his password in a personal notebook. Keepass is the same thing but digitized.

Ah, something that I never do.
-
@Dragoon and I never used a fire extinguisher. But if I'd ever need to use one, I'd very much rather be able to. Especially when there are no downsides.
-
Yes, which is why I keep a copy of my keepass archive in several locations and if for some reason I have to access a site from somewhere else I can get the passwords if required. So far, it has never come up.

I got into the habit in college to rarely refer to someone with their name. Because it was often too long since we met to ask a name without feeling bad about it.

@Benjamin-Hall Real ad from the German crafts association or something. Text says "We're craftsmen. We know our stuff".

@LaoC Explanation of the joke to those among us with no hardware expertise:
She's holding on to the hot part of the soldering iron. The tip will heat to approx. 350degC, and the shaft can be expected to be half that. And she's just poking a random motherboard with it, like it's some sort of probe. And the other hand is... empty. Not holding solder. Not holding solder-wick. Not holding a component down with tweezers...
The safety goggles do nothing, since soldering does not usually cause any flying debris. However, a fume extractor is strongly recommended.
-
@LaoC One of the classic Shutterstock photos of people soldering. It's been flipped horizontally.

They've since been removed from the Shutterstock site, I don't know why.

Discovery of the fascinating things a soldering iron might do to plastic bits seems like the kind of thing one might do at that age.

At least that only applies to Touchbar v1.0 Macs, as Apple actually listened to people and made Touchbar v2.0 shorter to have a physical escape key.
And really? You can't long press on the touch bar? TIL

You can.
The original touchbar has escape on the touchbar itself, I've no idea why there's a supposed problem anyway.

@loopback0 Yeah. If Stadia actually makes use of the touchbar you can being the regular Esc and F-keys back by holding down Fn. So I dunno the problem. (Unless you're fully incompetent and don't know about the Fn key that exists on every single laptop that I know of.)

@PJH It's an Android tablet though from the look of it so it hardly requires F keys.
