Am liking the 'dsiciple' too. It seems appropriate considering Dicsource.
Unintentional, but of course, like you said, perfect! In future, all followers of TCofCDCK will be called "dsiciples"!Filed under: currently that is a null-set, though.
-
if I could make @Kuro a dsiciple
You sure have @kuro fooled.
At least he spelt my name with a capital K.... not sure what a dsiciple is, yet.
Also I refuse to search through that "topic" to find out what "TCotCDCK" actually stands for. Discourse Search is - once again - not a good feature.Filed Under: If anybody could send me a full version of the word TCotCDCK per PM. I'd probably appreciate it. - Done, thanks :D | Also, am I in that category yet or not? Can I find that out? - also Done

I get the impression the mentions thing was a thing that was tacked on after the concept in general had been implemented.
… just like everything apart from fucking infiniscroll
-
Additionally, I don't think there's a(n easy) way of a user to find out which groups they belong to either.
Just found it, its in the header of the profile page.

Don't worry; they've got Michigan as a buffer zone.
IOW, Detroit is all that stands between Milwaukee and the might of the Poutine-eaters.
Hmm, no. Worry a lot.

...
to find out what "TCotCDCK"
TCotCDCK stands for "The Church of the Civilized Discourse Construction Kit" - an attempt of mine to express in religious terms the border-case religious views Jeff seems to have about civilized discourse on the web. And off course Jeff is their first prophet.A "dsiciple" is a disciple of TCotCDCK - As Discourse is often written as Dsicourse (or Dicsource), it seemed fitting.

I was hoping to get a badge for pointing the typo out before but it seems to have become legitimised meaning my badge for pointing out spellar/gramming pedantry may not, after all, be in the post.
-
I might have ninja'd you regarding the misspelling of "religious", yes.
-
No, that's not what I mean. I specifically originally called out 'dsiciple' as a misspelling. But now it's been legitimised, it's no longer a misspelling

Oh. Yes. Now I remember. But I pointed out even yesterday that I want to keep the spelling.Still not interested in becoming a dsiciple? Think of the inner peace it will give you!

Yes, but it's still a spellar/gramming issue.
Also, inner peace? No. My soul would already have had to have been torn apart meaning that there would be nothing left in which to have peace.

Smegging English man.

I has a sad that I can only upload photos.

Had to wget the thing anyway, Opera Chromiclone refused to play a
m4a
.And yeah, that, though I was looking for a diagram with a bunch of arrows, but I refused to waste more than 30 seconds on searching.

Well, that sucks. It would have been so much more effective if it had just played. But it seemed funny to me to record it just now XD
Especially, you know, English.

That is, until we figure out another way to inject <audio> tags.

Is it wrong that after the most obvious route (uploading directly), that trying a couple of things to inject an audio tag was my next tactic? I didn't try very hard, admittedly, but I did try.
-
-
Yes but as a user I feel like I shouldn't immediately be resorting to 'trying to break the software' upon hitting a tiny hurdle.

Quoted for... don't know, really. At the same time it's funny, sad, annoying, and sounds like a challenge.

You mean like using Discourse, using Discourse, using Discourse and liking Discourse?

Spellar/gramming badges aren't a thing yet.
-
-
Congrats. You got the first one.

Thank you!

A question. I wasn't involved much with Meta, so sorry if already discussed.
How can I see for which post was a badge awarded? And if I can't, what's the point of badges in the first place?

It's by gift of
the admins@PJH so it is probably just best viewed as being “in general”.

Oh. That's a shame. It would be nice to be able to see all the "pedantic dickweed" or "good/nice/adequate/whatever post" posts on the forums.

Could probably manually have a page, but yes, it would be nice...

Is there an area_belgium already? Or would that be too offensive?

Nope - just the three in the OP at the moment.
-
-
I know someone guessed I was in area_gbr earlier, just like to reiterate that I should indeed be in such if we're making it a thing.
-
Can we get some non-geographical ones? Like, "British humour appreciation society", where we can spot Monty Python, Red Dwarf and H2GT2G references without annoying people who care not for the awesome?

Though I'd rather a few broad groups rather than lots of specific ones. That said Funny Stuff is probably sufficient for the sort of thing you've mentioned...

What about:- area_eur
- area_else
?

It would be rather lonely in there, don't you think?
-
-
+1, although it doesn't have the same elitist ring to it.
Ah, but you ignored that there is no break!
So, we can access default, but others can't access eu.

Also The IT Crowd and Fawlty Towers.

What about:
- area_eur
- area_else
?
I was more meaning not having "uk_comedy", "us_comedy", "canadian_comedy", "belgian_comedy" groups...
I don't mind looking after the ISO3166 names for geographic groups.
-
Well, I'm sure not asking for _hr to sit in there alone.
We could do _ex_yu, but that's only 3 people again, as far as I know.
Well.. I guess we could do _eu, or _eu other or something.
