.... not exactly.... i mean yes in general, but a hungry flea will bite just about anything warm.
:-D
So if you ever do come over to my hedgerow, not only do I have to worry about you eating me, but also giving me a disease?

Status: yay all my tests work! ... oh crap, there's three potential types of data here, so I need three times the tests.

only if i haven't gotten rid of the fleas that @Luhmann sent me
/me is posting from inside a flea bath

cast 'em all to double first.

Status: embarking in untamed wilds. This should be fun.4 in-game months later
Well, at least there's a slightly-larger-than-normal aardvark... and a few dead animals. This is the most boring savage embark ever.
-
-
Well, I've only embarked once this game, so probably.

We use markdown syntax here, not mediawiki syntax.
Mod - PJH. Whoosh!
-
I don't actually know what you mean by that except in the most generic terms.
-
-
I don't see how that's relevant. '>' is a cromulent quote nesting character here.
-
''italic''
italic
-
Oh, that. I wasn't trying to italicize. Those were sneer quotes.
It appears that someone may not have gotten the joke.
-
I concur.

Or BBCode, or HTML.
We could petition Jeff to include mediawiki as well...
-
Did you actually flag? If so, which post in the conversation? There are three posts that emit a continuous whooshing sound.
-
-
Yeah. #8681.
-
-
@PJH how many distinct posts in this topic have been reported for missing the joke?

In the past 10 mins or so? Two.
-
post or flag?
-
Yes.
-
Agreed.

TDEMSYR.
It seemed the root post for that particular whoosh?

You're correct when looking at the green thing. But @loopbackp was referencing the post id.

Ah well, happens. In any case, I
believe I may havejust contributed flag #3.

Calling the thing that post was supposed to have whooshed on a joke seems suspect, is all. I'll cop to missing Ben's point, but I don't agree with the flag unless you also flag Ben for not getting what I meant by "game", unless he tries to go all accalia and pretend he did get it.
-
If you look two posts up, I intentionally missed that joke as well.
-
-
flag Ben for not getting what I meant by "game"
I thought the post I flagged was where that happened? That's why I flagged it.
-

No - they were referencing the post number. The post id for that post is 213876.
Screwy db schema....

Oh right.
Why do they need three distinct numbers for the exact same thing?
-
post_id - unique within table:posts
post_number - unique within topic_id (well it should be, now...)
Green bar: equiv to post_number but taking into account non-visible posts.
-
I understand that much, but I'm pretty sure there's a way to cut that down by one.
-
What's wrong with 1NF?...
-
Let's see what WTForum has for its post numbers and such...
Oh

In my defense, the emoji I posted showed up as a white rectangle until I refreshed the page.
-
Yeah, yeah. Still working on it. Doesn't help that my job has me doing the work of an entire team. And now that I'm looking for a new job, things aren't likely to go much faster.
-

Thanks for the flashback from my job where "we need another unique ID in the database" was a running joke among the IT staff thanks to how often the users said it.
