Wow six per core? Huh... Usually the compiler will intelligently not do that....

Well yeah. They don't mention that the real base is an offset of that location....

I'm going to assume the process for this is the same as for frozen pine trees up north: give it a good kick to scare off any rodents currently using it as a shelter first.

Status: Getting a bit annoyed at Amazon for including those trailers for their own shows in front of seemingly every video I want to watch.
No, guys, take the hint: If I don't watch even the first 5 minutes of that series you're pushing then I'm not interested. It's not as if this is ordinary broadcast TV with no return channel.
But this just took the cake: I actually wanted to watch American Gods. What trailer did they choose to play in front of the first episode?
American Gods.
Morons.
-
@Rhywden But they showed you a trailer for a show and then you watched that show. So the trailer was a success!

Question: (Didn't want to do a separate thread for this one, should be easy to answer if someone knows it)
I'm looking at using Azure Mobile Service for an (offline) data synchronization service. Now, everything below "Standard" seems to have an upper limit on the number of sync calls per day (either 500 or 1000). Now, the pricing, however, doesn't really tell me much because they're telling me that it's "0.084€ per hour".
I won't run a webserver on this, however, just the synchronization service, i.e. a user makes a sync request, pulls/pushes the latest data and then buggers off again for a while. The time between a sync for one user may range from several minutes to hours.
Anyone know under which conditions "one hour of server time" is calculated to have happened?
-

I think that's one of the "how long it's been running to process the request" things. If your code takes 1 second to complete a request, then 60 requests will result in one minute of server time being billed.
Or something. The cloud is usually very unclear on that sort of thing.

Apparently you get an achievement for dying so many times. Some areas are hard to find ways to die (fall off cliff, eat poisoned food, drown, etc), but in most areas you can find cactus to hump.
Interestingly enough, if you stand on cactus, you don't get hurt...
-
@Weng Enough about trailers already!
-
@Tsaukpaetra I guess I'll have to ask someone from their sales department. But your explanation makes sense. Would like to have some concrete explanation how they calculate that, though :)
-
Current project is probably going to come to a screeching halt for a bit while we find out if the spending bill will actually pass. Can't blame project management for assuming we'd still be on CRs at this point.

No, but in various ways if the spending bill passes our system is going to be in heavy use, so it'd be a pretty bad time to make changes to it. :P

Done. New machine was perfectly dandy.
So it was the migrated guests' configuration that was borked.
Went nuclear on all the "installed" network adapters, reset winsock, and a few more things.... and it seems to be working better now!
