The reflective foil strip/squares?
that too!
Wouldn't it just be easier to get the correct paper and ink and then wash the bills? Most 3D printers print using plastic polymers.

well this one also prints real cookies, just like grandma used to make. so i'm sure it can pull off any bank note you want it to.

I think there's a difference between cookies and bank notes.
Any way, I think there are already 3D printers for food, though they seem to be purpose built. I've seen one for pizzas. I first "prints" the dough, then it "prints" on the sauce, and then the cheese. The "chef" just has to add any additional toppings and bake it.
-
well yes. but if that were generalized what other things could i do with that technology?
could i print a working car? how about a spaceship?
a building fit to live in?
a replacement hip made out of real bone?
a bionic eye to help the blind see?
an infinite improbability drive?
the possibilities are endless!
but i doubt i'd be able to sell many because i couls also use it to print nukes and the government would not want that to get into the wrong hands (where wrong hands is defined to be any hands that aren't theirs)

How big a printer are you talking?
a replacement hip made out of real bone?
Wouldn't it be better to find a way to encourage the body to regenerate the bone naturally? Then you wouldn't need to preform surgery to place the new bone.
a bionic eye to help the blind see?
Similar to the argument above: Wouldn't it be better to fix the underlying issue instead?
an infinite improbability drive?
You'd have to design one first.

Can I print the love of a child?

I think the Supreme Court said that as long as it was "simulated," it's OK.

oh. you did.

What a shocker that boomzilla has that page queued up at all times.

oh. you did.
Not me.
What a shocker that boomzilla has that page queued up at all times.
Actually, google.com is what the new tab functionality on chome shows (plus thumbnails), so it was pretty easy to find, though I had to refine my search terms a bit to find reference to that case.

You'll be better off waiting for phones to catch up with Discourse.

Ice covered by snow is EVIL.
Really fucking evil.I've done a 360 on an empty road because of that.
-
yep. that's happened to me too. and while i praise the goddess that i was only going 10MPH and the road was empty at the time i still needed a new pair of pants.

I was doing about 45.

That sounds like something a cop could give you a reckless driving ticket for.

Probably, if they saw it. The speed wasn't really wrong for the conditions, there was barely any snow on the road, but just enough to cover the black ice. Not that I'd see it, anyways.

whew's the fun in that?
:-P

must i repeat myself?
where's the fun in that?

Status: EXCEL IS NOT A DATA INTERCHANGE FORMAT.
FTP IS NOT A MESSAGING PROTOCOL.
(Support workload is off the scale on the stupid end today. I am basically sending sarcastic emails to customers and my managers enumerating all the design decisions they have made to lead us here because I am fed up with this idiocy.)

EXCEL IS NOT A DATA INTERCHANGE FORMAT.
and yet it can be used for such a purpose

The question thread is that way
The question thread is (mercifully) dead. Or it was until you sent @accalia there just now. It had been dead for two months!

(Excel)
FTFY.
and yet it can be abused for such a purposeI've been trying for years to arrive at an arbitrary "import the fucking data from the fucking first fucking sheet in this fucking Excel workbook into this fucking SQL table with the same schema" solution. It's maybe 95% reliable. The other 5%, some dickweed does something weird and breaks it. Because clearly using some sort of structured UI for bulk order entry is UNPOSSIBLE.
(FTP) and yet it can be abused for such a purpose
Tell me about it. That's the fucking go-to default for message passing around here. And every other fucking day, I'm opening tickets to get someone to track down some file that got dumped on an FTP server and the recipient system allegedly never saw it (until I show them the logs of their retrieving it).In fact, this is the ONLY permissible way to pass messages between systems living in different security bubbles (PCI, SEC, HIPPA, otherwise normal)

Nah, just hibernating. It can't be dead, it's still there!

Threads don't actually die here, they just go dormant until awakened by a kiss from a Knight of WTF.

A female HIPPO?

FTFY.
actually i deliberately left it off there for the funnies.
agree on the rest of the rant though. ;-)

a kiss from a Knight of WTF
hmm... if i can do that to a thread..... i wonder what else it'll work on? ;-)

Try it and report back with the results (preferably on a dedicated NSFW thread).

If they don't die, then they can't really be necro'd. If they are only hibernating, then the proper term should be "awakened". We should get our terminology straight, or at least consistent.

Why would one ever want to do that on Discourse?
