Status: Just got the memo that the rest of the week is casual dress. Friday's always casual day, and the office is closed Thursday, so ... yay casual Wednesday!

Shouldn't the more important thing before you leave being explaining all the crap you maintain in more detail to someone so there isn't just the spare of you left (or if it's like my place so someone knows about it)?
Part of why I'm leaving is that most of my job was getting tickets in for a system that had no documentation, and trying to hunt down who actually had dealt with it. And half the time, no one would accept responsibility. So, there's not much to document.

when did i say vanilla?
You've never heard that joke?
Current status: project is now on hold since I don't have the necessary permissions for what I need to do. Those usually take about a week to get. To reiterate, my last day is Friday.

How do you fit an elephant in a subway?
Take the s out of sub and the f out of way.

So you got a project that lets your boss say that he has someone working on it and an excuse to put it off for a while. Sounds like good planning rather than bad.

WTF Dicksource. The text under the <hr> was actually small until the edit, and now it's not?!
edit: another edit with some rearranged tags and it's fixed. For now.

Nah, just no forethought on the setup for the project by the planning committee, which my boss is not a part of. SOP here...

what? another woosh badge? havent we gotten the point yet that as far as jokes go i'm not the fastest off the mark?
-
Since when was that a consideration? Whoosh badges have a few repeat offenders.

Status: Our Subversion server is apparently asleep, drunk, and/or out-of-the-office on holiday leave. And right now I need to do stuff to our repositories.
-
yes. it's currently a five way tie for most wooshes.
i'm not keen on taking the solo lead on that one.
-

It's funny in this circumstance because it's not like you didn't get the joke, it's just that I was referencing a joke that you had not heard yet.
-
Maybe @PJH could do another badge query which auto grants the "Special Snowflake" badge to the person with the most Whoosh badges? ;)

exactly! shouldn't wooshes be reserved for things that one does not have such an excuse for (or that such an excuse is inconceivable)?

if he does i'm going to appeal all my woosh badges because that's not what special snowflake means to me!

No! That would make them less meaningful for those of us that are already special snowflakes!
-
There's a strong correlation between holders of Special Snowflake and Didn't Get the Joke.
-
It'd only add one more at most at a time, and considering that two of the three Special Snowflakes are currently joint first place with Whoosh badges, it might not actually add any.
-
I'm proud that I post so much, and still don't have a whoosh badge.
-

corrolation is not causation!
-
Plus doing a promotion set up on the whooshes like the pedants might be a better setup anyway. If they use the same setup then you have several more to go before you earn a promote.

but i don't want a promotion for woosh. especially not for missing a joke because it referenced a joke i hadn't heard before.
i also don't want a pedantry badge!
-

I doubt anyone wants the whoosh badges and/or any related promotions.
-
point taken, but still can it really be a woosh if it was effectively an in joke?
-
If the badge was "someone missed the joke", then you'd get the whoosh. But the badge is "someone didn't get the joke", which is not the same.
-
I guess that's why it requires three people to agree on that for it to be granted. Removes a single person's interpretation (which in my case may or may not be wrong) of it.

this one is hard to parse.... are you agreeing with me or @loopback0?

You.

You.
i thought that might be the case.
and so......

Oh, I just looked over the lists and your correlation goes the other direction than you were using it to justify the auto award you proposed. 2/3 of the Special Snowflakes are tied for top count of Whooshes, but there are 5 currently tied there so going from Whoosh to Snowflake is only 40% which is harder to justify (and matches the auto grant you suggested).
-
I think 40% chance of it not happening qualifies as might not.

2/3 have Snowflake while having high Whoosh.
2/5 have high Whoosh while having Snowflake.Where are you getting the not?

Right here:
@loopback0 said:it might not actually add any.
All it takes is one of those five to get another badge and they're then the person with the most.
As I was talking about not adding an extra member to the Snowflake group, then as two of the top five already have a snowflake badge then they would not be granted another one.

koi?
really?
if i were inclined to so so i would have gone with
but seeing as i am both level and plumb at the moment...
